If you know me in real life, you know that I’m pretty unfiltered. I “try” for the most part to stay silent on here. But after speaking to a couple of my friends who took the leap off faith to open a brick and mortar store and hearing how they are now struggling to survive an ongoing pandemic, the price increase in the cost of goods and now a global crisis is heartbreaking. But to add insult to injury it’s even more heartbreaking when you drive by Target, Walmart, Kroger etc. and see people fighting over parking spaces. When some of these smaller business haven’t seen more than 20-30 customers in a week. Sometimes shopping the big box stores is cheaper. Trust me I have family members that purchase candles from Walmart instead of from me. 😂 Do what works for your budget. But if you can actually support a local business, do it. They are the ones putting money back into the community. Supporting youth sports with donations and paying for advertising. Donating money and merchandise to local PTOs to help with their fundraising. I remember maybe a year or two ago when there was a fire at Jolly Ollie’s. Sanders Ferry pizza had a fundraiser for them to help in their rebuilding process. Do you think KFC gives a damn if Popeyes burns down? That was a lot of rambling but I hope you understand where I’m coming from.
