In this Walnut Cove home, art isn’t just something you hang on the walls. It’s part of the architecture. ✨💙💛

From sculptural lighting and layered metals to rich blues, warm golds and a statement fireplace, every detail was designed to create visual impact. Even a favorite foyer light fixture from the homeowners’ previous residence found new life here, blending bold contemporary design with pieces that feel deeply personal.

The result? A home that feels sophisticated, expressive and a little like living in your own private gallery.

Staircases are made to take you somewhere, but that doesn’t mean the design can’t have a little fun along the way. ✨

From custom metalwork that turns a railing into a work of art to a sweeping staircase anchored by a floor-to-ceiling mosaic tile wall, we love finding ways to transform this functional feature into an architectural centerpiece.

Tub, shower… or why choose? 🛁🚿✨

When it comes to designing the perfect bathroom retreat, everyone has a preference. A deep soaking tub made for unwinding? A spacious, spa-like shower? Or the ultimate luxury of having both?

These recent bathroom renovations prove that whichever team you’re on, style and comfort can go hand in hand.

So, we have to ask: Are you Team Tub, Team Shower or Team BOTH? Tell us below! 👇

Not every lake home has to follow tradition.

For this second home on Lake Keowee, our clients envisioned something completely different from the expected. The result: a bold industrial retreat where concrete floors, warm wood accents, and treasured family pieces come together to create a space that’s both striking and welcoming.

From the home entry’s dramatic contemporary pivot door to the industrial-inspired architecture, every detail was thoughtfully designed to make a statement. One of our favorite moments? A reclaimed wooden dresser transformed into a custom powder room vanity, topped with hand-crafted concrete that creates a beautiful, one-of-a-kind dripping effect around the sink. Add in a sleek wet bar with textured tile and industrial pipe shelving, and you’ve got a home that proves modern design can be both edgy and deeply livable.

Because the best interiors don’t just fit the landscape—they reflect the people who call them home.

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

This weekend, we’re celebrating the freedom, history, and communities that make this country such a special place to call home. We’re especially grateful for the opportunity to serve incredible clients and create places that will be cherished for generations.

This charming red, white, and blue planter outside the former Saluda Presbyterian Church in Saluda (future home of the Historic Saluda Museum) was the perfect reminder that history is all around us. ✨ Cheryl recently brought home one of the church’s original pews, dating back to the 1880s, and we can’t wait to share where this beautiful piece of history will find its next home.

Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and memorable Independence Day! ❤️🤍💙

Cheers to the weekend… and to spaces worth raising a glass in. 🥂

This Biltmore Forest renovation gave us the perfect opportunity to uncork something special: a custom wine cellar featuring reclaimed wine boxes along the perimeter, adding warmth, texture, and plenty of character. Paired with a once-heavy staircase that’s now a refined Arts & Crafts-inspired focal point, every detail was designed to age beautifully, including the wine!

Here’s to thoughtful design, timeless craftsmanship, and weekends well spent. 🍷

Some things never change... and honestly, we're glad they don't. 😉

Check out this little then-and-now moment from the Cheryl Smith Associates archives. In 2020, Cheryl's grandson Luke was already helping her source rugs for clients during a visit to Togar Rugs. Fast forward six years, and Luke is back at it again—this time alongside his big brother, Tanner.

While the faces have grown up, our commitment to finding the perfect pieces for our clients remains exactly the same. We still believe that exceptional design starts with thoughtful selections, quality craftsmanship, and taking the time to find just the right fit for each home.

Your outdoor spaces deserve just as much attention as your interiors 💚.

As summer settles in, we find ourselves spending more time gathered on porches, sharing meals with family and friends, and enjoying quiet moments surrounded by nature. Thoughtful outdoor design extends the way you live, creating seamless connections between home and landscape.

For this Biltmore Forest renovation, the screened porch was doubled in size, transforming it into an inviting indoor-outdoor retreat designed for entertaining and everyday enjoyment. Natural stone, warm wood details, and bespoke craftsmanship bring renewed life to the home, while every selection was carefully chosen to create a harmonious blend of old and new—timeless, functional, and perfectly suited for modern living.

Because great design doesn’t stop at the back door.
