Imagine waking up on a Friday morning and stepping into a shower like this. 🤍

Clean lines, soft marble-inspired tile, natural pebble stone, warm wood details, and matte-black finishes come together to make this bathroom feel fresh, calming, and beautifully considered.

Because even the most functional spaces in your home should make the everyday feel a little more special.

Which detail catches your eye first?

Is it the pebble-stone floor, the warm wood shelving, the matte-black finishes, or something else?

What have you always wanted to know about working with an interior designer?

Behind every finished space are conversations, drawings, material selections, careful decisions, and countless details thoughtfully brought together.

We want to help make the interior design process feel more approachable, so we would love to hear from you.

Maybe you’re wondering:

• When should I contact an interior designer?
• How long does the process take?
• What should I expect during the first consultation?
• How involved will I be in the design decisions?
• How do I begin planning for the investment?

Leave your question in the comments.

We may answer it in an upcoming post or feature it in a future Hemma Living blog!

Because creating a home that feels like yours should begin with clarity, conversation, and a team that listens.

From the warmth of the fireplace and custom built-ins to the layered kitchen finishes, light-filled dining area, and inviting enclosed porch, each space was designed to feel distinct while remaining part of a cohesive whole.

Warm wood tones carry throughout the home, balanced by soft neutrals, black accents, natural textures, and thoughtful touches of color.

Together, these details create a home that feels welcoming, functional, and deeply personal.

Because the best interiors don’t simply look beautiful—they create a natural sense of connection from one space to the next.

Which space would you spend the most time in?

One home.

Two thoughtfully transformed spaces.

The kitchen pairs soft blue cabinetry with warm brass details, expansive countertops, and beautiful, light-filled views.

In the bathroom, warm wood tones, layered tile, streamlined storage, and a thoughtfully designed walk-in shower create a space that feels both elevated and inviting.

Together, these spaces strike a beautiful balance between thoughtful design and everyday function.

Which details featured here would you bring into your own home?

✨The Heart Behind Hemma✨

At Hemma Living, we’re fortunate to have a talented team of designers who genuinely love getting to know their clients and bringing their visions to life.

Amanda is our Lead Designer.

This morning, she stepped away from client meetings and floor plans for a few minutes to answer some fun questions about what inspires her, where she loves to shop and the project she dreams of designing someday.

Here’s what she shared with me!

1. What made you want to become an interior designer?

I grew up in what I would describe as a treehouse, and I always wanted a “normal” house. LOL! I often dreamed of a white house with a white picket fence.

As an adult, I’ve come to appreciate the unique, one-of-a-kind home I grew up in, and I now strive to make every home feel unique to the homeowner. My current house incorporates metal roofing from the barn on my mom’s property, along with custom furniture my husband created by repurposing vintage pieces.

2. What’s your favorite part of the design process?

I actually love most parts of it! I enjoy getting to know our clients, learning what they’re looking for and determining how we can help bring their ideas to life.

Our 3D design program has been so much fun to learn and explore. I love the challenge of turning a client’s wish list into a thoughtful, functional design.

I also really enjoy being on-site throughout the construction phase, checking in with contractors, seeing how everything is built and watching the entire project come together. Every crew works a little differently, so learning what information they need from me is always interesting.

3. What’s one thing you wish every client knew before beginning a project?

Planning for the unexpected! Things can come up during any renovation or construction project. That’s part of the process, and I’m here to help the homeowner and contractor work through those challenges and find the best solution.

Things may also feel messy or disorganized before everything comes together, but seeing the finished space makes it all worthwhile. Trust the process!

4. What’s your dream travel destination?

I’ve always wanted to rent a moped and travel through Rome and the Italian countryside.

5. What’s your favorite local spot to shop, eat or unwind?

I love thrifting at Dannie Duluth and Angie’s Closet. I’m always able to find a hidden gem, and I love never knowing what I’ll discover. I call it retail therapy!

6. What’s your ultimate dream project?

Making the forever home I’ve designed a reality. I envision a home on my dad’s property with plenty of room for family, both near and far, to stay and enjoy the quiet countryside and large pond.

This space came together through a mix of clean lines, warm finishes and thoughtful details.

Crisp white cabinetry keeps things light, while the soft blue island, warm leather seating and natural wood tones bring in just the right amount of color and warmth.

Some kitchens ask for attention. Others earn it in the details.

Warm wood tones, creamy cabinetry, deep blue walls and layers of texture create a space that feels polished without losing its sense of home.

The statement lighting brings just enough presence, while the original woodwork keeps the room grounded in character.

A kitchen designed for gathering, living and staying awhile.
