One of my students applied the final coat of lacquer on his guitar when tragedy happened. The guitar fell and cracked. Talk about having the wind knocked out of you.
I tell my students all the time, “It’s only wood”. After contemplating the best way to repair the damage, we set out to make the repairs.
You can see on the last pictures that if you set your mind to it you can repair almost anything. Great job Stephen.
The face that I saw holding the broken guitar compared to the giant smile with the final repair was instructive to see. What a life lesson in overcoming adversity.

Finishing up on my latest guitar. This is a small jumbo Florentine cutaway with mahogany top and ambrosia curly maple back and sides. It has walnut binding and a custom offset rosette. The fretboard and bridge are maple with a laminated neck. The tuners are black. It also has an armrest. This was one of the more complicated builds but I think it’s looks beautiful. The tone is very rich and vibrant.
