Please share my story

Hi, I'm David Faassen. My wife Tammy and I live in a rural county in middle Tennessee.
I am a Navy veteran
(77-85) and have spent the last 35 years working as a chimney sweep which I found to be very rewarding work.

My need for a kidney came as a big surprise to us. At a routine six month check up with my doctor,
I gave a blood sample, then went back to work. A couple hours later I was contacted and directed to our local ER.
The diagnosis was stage 5 kidney failure. One of my kidneys is dead. The other working at only14%.

Many say, you don't look sick. But I am. Very sick, and I need a kidney to help filter the toxins out of my blood.

For medical reasons, my wife isn't able to donate a kidney. But is willing to possibly donate bone marrow or part of her liver if someone in your circle needs that. We can do an organ swap.

After having lost everything in a flood in 2010 and then again in 2021 it has become our dream that in our retirement years we could travel to disaster hit areas to help those that have faced the same loss.

It's with a heavy heart that after 34 years, Neighborhood Chimney Care has closed its doors.

David and I thank each of our customers, many of whom we've watched as your own lives have changed. We've watched your babies grow and have babies of their own and so many other life moments. We hold those memories close to our hearts.

Now it's our time to change. With unexpected health issues that have come up, we’ve decided it’s time to retire.

We are, however, looking for someone to step in and pick up where we left off. If you, or someone you know has a heart to serve please reach out. We will be selling our loyal database, service van, tools of the trade, and inventory.

Should the buyer choose to stay in Lyles, the option to rent the office, showroom, and shop is available. You could expand the 60-mile radius service area or leave it in place. Change, or keep the name, logo, phone number, and email address. As you know, we are well established and recognizable.

With hard workers, retail heating products, selling, installing, repairs and of course sweeping, along with the growth in the area the sky is the limit. We feel that this is a great business opportunity for the right someone.

As of now our sweep schedules are booked until Thanksgiving.
Our repair and install crews are booked until the beginning of December.

Don't forget to get a sweep before it gets too chilly out!
