Before there was a Downtown Hickory, there was the railroad.

In 1859, land here was purchased for a Western North Carolina Railroad station and the little community that would become Hickory began growing around that depot.

The square became the heart of commerce and community, eventually taking the name Union Square in 1913. More than a century later, it’s still where Hickory gathers.

So, naturally, it needed flowers 🌸

Our Union Square Bouquet was designed as part of Whitfield’s Hickory Collection. Bright, abundant, a little wild, and inspired by the place at the center of our city’s story.

Our Hart Square Village Bouquet is out in the wild!

Hart Square Village is home to the nation’s largest collection of historic log structures. With 103 restored buildings dating back as far as 1760, there’s a beautifully preserved glimpse into early Carolina life and Appalachian tradition right here in Vale North Carolina.

As part of our Hickory Collection, it was only right that the first arrangement ever made was shown off in front of those cabins.

If you’ve never been to Hart Square, go explore one of the events or festivals they host. Step back in time, explore the early Carolina’s, and order some flowers reminiscent of the village to be delivered to your doorstep.
