That process cannot be rushed. It’s shaped by trust, by shared ideas, and by a commitment to honoring the hands and heritage that guide the work.⁠

At Iximché, I spent time walking the site and understanding how the Kaqchikel Maya organized space and lived within it, and I also took part in a traditional ceremony in the woods led by a respected shaman. It was quiet and grounded in nature, centered on balance, cycles, and observation.

Experiencing both the physical place and the cultural practices firsthand matters to me. It is not separate from our textile work. It gives context because you start to understand where patterns, materials, and ways of making come from, not just how they look. You see the relationship between land, process, and daily life.

That awareness carries into what we choose to create and source for RB Curated and keeps the work connected to origin, not just interpretation.

We work directly with our artisan partners, ensuring fair wages, thoughtful collaboration, and a process built on respect. This is not anonymous production. It is human work, done with care and intention at every stage.⁠

Many of the techniques we use are complex and increasingly rare, requiring precision that machines cannot replicate. Because of this, every piece is inherently one of a kind, shaped by the hands that made it.⁠

We produce in small batches to maintain quality, preserve tradition, and avoid the pressures of mass production.⁠
