Some people collect things.

Other people collect experiences. ❤️

This couple definitely falls into the second category. They love to travel, explore new places, and make memories together along the way.

One of their recent adventures took them to Barcelona, where they had the opportunity to experience IndyCar racing while they were there. And while they may prefer experiences over things, sometimes you find something that helps you remember an experience long after the trip is over.

For them, that was this poster.

They brought it home from Barcelona and then brought it to us to have it framed so it could become part of their home...and a daily reminder of a pretty incredible trip.

That's what I love about pieces like this.

It's not really about the poster.

It's about remembering Barcelona. The racing. The atmosphere. The adventure. And the fact that they experienced all of it together.

Souvenirs don't have to live in a drawer or get tucked away in a closet. Sometimes the best ones belong right on the wall.

If you could frame one souvenir from a favorite trip you've taken, what would it be? ✈️❤️

It's National Dog Day...and you KNOW we weren't going to let this one pass without celebrating. 🐾❤️

If you've ever wondered whether your dog is welcome at Hoosier Highlander, the answer is YES!

We love when our customers bring their four-legged family members along while they're picking out frames, dropping off artwork, or stopping in to say hello. Honestly, there's a pretty good chance your dog will get more attention than you do. 😂

So in honor of National Dog Day, we went through our photos and found some of the pups who have stopped in to visit us over the years.

But then we realized there was another group that needed to be included...

The dogs who are so loved that their humans have brought in photos and artwork of them to be framed. ❤️

Because we completely understand that they're not just dogs. They're family. And whether they're standing beside you at our design counter or their adorable face is the reason you came through our doors in the first place, we love getting to know them.

Happy National Dog Day to all the good boys and girls out there! 🐶🐾

Now show us yours! Drop a photo of your pup in the comments so we can properly celebrate them too!

A little heads-up if you're planning to visit us tomorrow! 🚗

Tomorrow is Highland's Big Restaurant Crawl from 4–9 PM, which means Highway Avenue will be closing at 2 PM while they get everything ready for the event.

BUT we are still open our regular hours until 5 PM!

So don't let the road closure stop you from coming in to pick something up, drop off a project, or start something new.

After 2 PM, simply pull into the alley and park behind our building. You'll know you're in the right place when you see Hoosier Highlander printed on our back door.

You can park behind either the red or blue SUV and come on in!

And once we're closed for the day, head over and enjoy the Restaurant Crawl. Sounds like a pretty good excuse to support a whole bunch of Highland businesses in one evening. ❤️

Tomorrow's hours: 9 AM–5 PM
Highway Avenue closes: 2 PM
Big Restaurant Crawl: 4–9 PM

Please feel free to share this so anyone planning to visit us tomorrow knows how to get here!

Now THIS is a Buddy Guy collection. 🎸

This piece started with a signed Buddy Guy poster, but there was so much more that deserved to be included.

Our customer kept their vintage ticket stubs and other signed memorabilia over the years, and instead of keeping everything separated or tucked away in a box, we brought it all together into one framing design.

That's what makes a piece like this so much fun.

Every little piece adds another part of the story and turns the finished frame into something completely personal to the person who collected it.

And can we take a moment to appreciate actual concert ticket stubs? 😂 There's something about seeing the date, venue, and even what someone paid for a ticket that instantly takes you back to another time.

This is exactly why we always tell people to bring us everything when they're thinking about a framing project. You might assume we're only going to frame the poster, but that ticket stub, autograph, backstage pass, photo, or other little piece you've saved could be what makes the entire design.

Don't leave the good stuff sitting in a box.

Let's figure out how to put it on the wall. 🎶❤️

We know life still isn't quite back to normal around here.

There are still people without power, trees and debris waiting to be cleaned up, repairs that need to be made, and plenty of people who are just plain exhausted after everything our community has been through.

We also know that little by little, normal life starts creeping back in.

For us, that means getting back to framing...and sharing some of the really cool pieces that have come through the shop. ❤️

So let's talk concert posters!

Concert posters are some of our favorite pieces to frame because there's usually a memory attached to them. Maybe it was your favorite band, an incredible show, a concert you traveled across the country to see, or simply one of those nights you know you'll always remember.

And after a week like the one we've all had, there's something kind of nice about talking about the things that bring us joy again.

If you have a concert poster rolled up in a tube or tucked away somewhere, bring it in. We'll help you choose a design that protects it and turns that memory into something you can actually enjoy on your wall.

And if you're still without power, please know we're thinking about you. Our doors are open, the AC is on, and you're still welcome to stop in and charge your devices while you're here. ❤️

So... what's one concert you've been to that you'd LOVE to relive?

WE HAVE POWER!!! 🎉🙌

After losing power at the shop due to last week's storms, we're very happy to say the lights are back on, the AC is running, and Hoosier Highlander will be OPEN today!

Do we have a little catching up to do? Absolutely. 😂 But we're back at it and ready to get to work!

And please don't let the "catching up" part stop you from bringing in something new. New framing projects are absolutely welcome! Stop in, bring us that artwork, photograph, keepsake, or random thing you've been wondering if we can frame. We'd love to see what you've got.

And if your power is still out, you're welcome to stop in for another reason too. Come enjoy some AC, charge your phone or other devices for a bit, and say hello. ❤️

Our regular hours are:

Tuesday–Friday: 9 AM–5 PM
Saturday: 9 AM–2 PM
Sunday & Monday: CLOSED

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding through all of this. We're incredibly grateful to have power restored and to be able to open our doors again.

Now... let's get back to framing! ❤️

Well... the power outage finally caught up with us at the shop.

We were incredibly fortunate that Hoosier Highlander kept its power for the first few days following the storms, but unfortunately, the shop lost power today and will be CLOSED until power is restored.

At home, we haven't been quite as lucky. The owners' homes have been without power since the storms came through, and they've been limping along with generators ever since and some of the employees either were out of power or still are.

But more than anything, we're grateful.

We're grateful that our homes and shop weren't damaged. We're grateful that our families are safe. And we know there are so many people throughout our community who weren't nearly as fortunate.

There are families dealing with damaged homes, fallen trees, lost food, and cleanup that will continue long after everyone's lights finally come back on.

We're also incredibly thankful for the linemen, utility crews, first responders, tree crews, city workers, and everyone else who has been working around the clock to put our communities back together. We know they're exhausted too, and their work is very much appreciated. ❤️

For now, we'll keep the generator going at home and wait patiently for the lights to come back on at Hoosier Highlander.

We'll let everyone know as soon as we're able to reopen.

Until then, thank you for your patience, check on your neighbors, and take care of each other. ❤️

Take this painting, for example.

A simple moped parked outside a bookstore.

There's nothing dramatic happening, yet it makes you stop and wonder...

Whose moped is it?
Did they just run inside to pick up a favorite novel?
Are they about to spend the afternoon getting lost in a good book?

The best artwork leaves a little room for your imagination.

For this piece, we chose a frame that complemented the painting without taking away from its charm. The goal was to let the artwork remain the focus while giving it the finished look it deserved.

Every piece is different, and every piece has its own personality. Our job is simply to help it shine.

Stop in with your piece and we'll help you design a look that let's your piece shine too!
