๐Ÿช“ Fatherโ€™s Day, the natural way. ๐ŸŒฟ

This year, skip the tie. Weโ€™ve pulled together a Fatherโ€™s Day collection built for the dad whoโ€™s happiest outside โ€” handcrafted soaps, mineral sunscreen, natural bug repellent, beard oil, and a few small-batch treats, all made with real, clean ingredients.

No fillers, no fuss โ€” just good stuff for the guy who taught you to build a fire and find your way back.

Stop by Tuesday thru Friday, 10 am to 5 pm; Saturday 10 am to 3 pm and Sunday 10 am to 2 pm. Heโ€™ll notice the difference. ๐Ÿงก

๐ŸŒ On June 16th, the world celebrates World Refill Day โ€” a global movement that started across the pond with one simple idea: stop filling the planet with trash, start refilling your containers instead.
Radical, right? ๐Ÿ˜„
Well, here in the Monadnock region, that "radical idea" has been our whole thing for a while now. Bring your bottle. Fill it up. Skip the plastic. Go home happy.
No fancy campaign needed. Just you, your containers, and a shop that's been cheering on the reuse revolution since day one. ๐Ÿ’š
Come in on June 16th and refill something. Anything. We'll celebrate together.

๐Ÿ“ Monadnock Green Shop โ€” your local refillery, proudly part of a global movement.

๐ŸŒŠ The ocean called. She said thanks for the refill bottle, but there are 8 million metric tons of plastic entering the water every year and honestlyโ€ฆ sheโ€™s a little overwhelmed.

Today is World Oceans Day ๐Ÿ‹ and the message from the deep is pretty simple: less plastic, more planet.

Every refill. Every reusable. Every swap you make at the shop โ€” it adds up. The ocean doesnโ€™t need a speech, she needs fewer straws.

Come by the shop. Letโ€™s keep the ocean doing what it does best โ€” being absolutely magnificent ๐Ÿš

๐ŸŒ Earth left a voicemail:
"Hey, it's me. The planet. I've been trying to reach you about your Earth's extended warrantyโ€ฆ just kidding. Kind of.
Listen โ€” I don't want to be dramatic, but things have been a little rough lately. The glaciers are melting faster than I'd like. The coral reefs are having a moment. The bees are filing complaints. And somewhere, a sea turtle is having a very bad day because of a straw that wasn't even his.
I know you're busy. I know it feels big and far away. But I also know you've surprised me before โ€” you cleaned up rivers people said were gone forever. You brought back species everyone had written off. You showed up when it mattered.
So I'm not calling to panic you. I'm calling because you're still my favourite species, and I'd really like to keep this going." ๐ŸŒฟ

Here's the thing โ€” right now, a lot of the protections that were quietly keeping things in balance are being quietly walked back. Environmental regulations. Conservation funding. Climate commitments. It's not loud. It's not dramatic.
But it's happening, and the planet feels it before the headlines do.

World Environment Day isn't just a hashtag. It's a reminder that the Earth doesn't care about news cycles โ€” she just keeps the score ๐ŸŒŠ

So today:
๐ŸŒฑ Plant something
โ™ป๏ธ Ditch something
๐Ÿ”„ Switch something
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Talk about something โ€” loudly, often, unapologetically

The hashtag is easy. The habit is the hard part. But hard parts are kind of our thing, aren't they?

The Earth hired us to take care of her. Let's not get fired ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ Tomorrow, May 20, is World Bee Day โ€” and honestly, May might just be the most important month of the year for the natural world. Let us explain! ๐ŸŒธ

Bees pollinate roughly 75% of the worldโ€™s flowering plants and are essential to our food supply. But habitat loss, pesticides, and a lack of forage are putting them at serious risk.

At Monadnock Green Shop, we carry a couple of our favorite bee-friendly finds:
๐ŸŒป Pollinator seeds โ€” grow native flowers that give bees and other pollinators a place to feed and thrive, right in your own yard or windowsill
๐Ÿฏ Beeswax wraps โ€” a beautiful, plastic-free alternative to cling wrap. Better for your kitchen, better for the planet, and one less piece of plastic ending up where bees (and all of us) donโ€™t want it

๐ŸŒฟ A note on No Mow May: we get it โ€” a long lawn can feel untidy. But if you can resist the mow (or even just leave your flowerbeds and leaf piles undisturbed this month), youโ€™re giving bees, beetles, and ground-nesting insects a crucial early-season home. That โ€œmessyโ€ corner of your yard? Itโ€™s actually doing a lot of good.

And to close out the month โ€” May 22 is the International Day for Biological Diversity. Bees are just one thread in an incredibly complex web of life. Every seed planted, every patch of lawn left wild, every piece of plastic swapped out โ€” it all adds up to a world with more room for everything living in it.
