One of my favorite ways to use tulip bulbs is to interplant them in my containers with pansies. Tulips need to be planted in the fall as they need to chill (literally!) for several weeks.
For your container, add about 4-5” of potting soil, place your tulips about 2-4” apart by and about 6-8” below the rim, add more potting soil, and then top with pansies. The pansies look great by themselves but when the tulips pop through in the spring, it’s so exciting because it took all winter for them to bloom!
Pictured are tulips from last year and this year I have ordered some specialty tulips that were favorites. These will be available at my farm or at Made Market NWA until they are gone.
