As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the long, circuitous road that brought me here. I remember going back to school for interior design and naively telling people I wanted to own my own business. Any small business owner can tell you it’s a drama-filled journey that pushes you to the brink, only to launch you into moments of pure bliss, again and again. It’s not for the faint of heart, but the rewards are profound.

The greatest of those rewards is the relationships I’ve built, most especially the MMI team. These women have played a vital role in shaping this business and producing designs that rival the best in the industry. It’s pure talent paired with real heart. We’ve weathered countless challenges together, both personal and professional, and those experiences have made us stronger and hopefully more compassionate, more understanding. In the end, it’s what makes the journey richer than the destination.

The MMI team also extends far beyond our walls. There are so many talented partners behind the scenes who bring these large projects to life: art consultants, contractors, furniture manufacturers, upholsterers, architects, engineers—and the list goes on. None of this happens in isolation.

And finally, I’m deeply grateful for our clients, who place an extraordinary amount of trust in us to lead the design of one of their most significant investments and surely, one of their most cherished spaces. Without that trust, this would all still be just a dream.
