Three Strands Woodworks is owned and operated by Jacob Mendes and his wife Kahulili. They make two of the strands and with God as the center strand, they strive to maintain a humble, honest, and well built business. They are located right outside the Historic Town of Honokaʻa in Kalopa. Our Master Craftsman is Jacob Mendes, who w
as born in Honokaʻa and raised in the near by Town of Paʻauilo. Jacobʻs love of woodworking began in middle school and has only gotten stronger through out the years. After High School, he went to Hawaii Community College and got his Associateʻs Degree in Carpentry. He went to work for Meryl doing finish carpentry in high-end homes at Kukio. After the construction industry slowed, Jacob started Three Strands Woodworks where he makes custom cabinets, furniture, tables etc.
