We can’t wait to have Molly Chidsey join us this Saturday for two classes all about Modern Calligraphy.

Drawing With Letters: modern calligraphy level 1
learn how simple strokes and shapes come together to create the lowercase calligraphy alphabet. Using a brush pen, you will explore contrast, movement, and visual rhythm as you begin drawing letters with greater confidence and intention.

Words as Art: Modern Calligraphy Level 2
Move beyond individual letters and discover how words can become expressive works of art. Modern calligraphy is not about making every letter perfect. It is about using shape, rhythm, spacing, and movement to give words personality and meaning.

Marcy is testing out the Aquabords from Ampersand. These panels are treated with an absorbent ground that is perfect for watercolor, inks or fluid acrylics. Best thing about these is that they don’t warp! Totally worth a try!
