Jewelry Show tomorrow. We have 10 fantastic artists that hand craft and hand make their jewelry.
Most of them are set up ready for the doors to open at 10AM. Two others are in the process.

Alabama jewelry maker Lori Rhodes. I have been making jewelry for 20+ years. I began many years ago stringing pearls and doing repair work for a jewelry supply business in Birmingham, AL. Since then I have participated in shows across the Southeastern USA.

Former vice president of NAC
I am trained in traditional pearl stringing. I love to work with freshwater pearls
repurposed vintage finds and glass from The Czech Republic.

Meet the artist Louise Hewlett.
Louise is the child of missionary parents. She grew up in the Amazon jungles of South America. She lived in primitive villages where most of her free time was spent outside developing a love of nature and an interest in the arts and crafts of the tribal people She grew up with. Louise received her B.S. degree in art and physical education from Bryan college in Tennessee. After college she moved to Birmingham and married her college sweetheart Don. Her husband and two sons love to collect rocks and fossils. Louise and her boys joined the Alabama Mineral and Lapidary Society, going on the monthly field trips to collect rocks, fossils and Minerals. Louise gives credit to Ed Ellam a member of the club for teaching her to cut and polish stones.
As Louise became more interested in learning wire wrapping, she took lessons at Wild Acres and William Holland Lapidary school on wire wrapping and wire sculpture. Wire wrapping is an ancient craft that dates back thousands of years back to ancient Egypt. A unique setting of sterling silver or 14 Kt gold wire is used to create and enhance each hand cut stone.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Interior Design from George Washington University and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, I built my career working with several highly respected firms in Washington, D.C. Through numerous complex, multicultural projects, she gained invaluable experience in design, art, and creative problem-solving.
After relocating to Birmingham, Alabama, I chose to step back from full-time professional work to focus on raising my children while continuing to provide part-time consulting services. During this period, I spent much of my free time visiting art exhibitions and museums. These visits inspired me to study jewelry design through various books and research. What began as a personal interest gradually evolved into a powerful creative calling.
In 2005, I reinvented myself professionally and began pursuing my passion for jewelry design. Inspired by the desire to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces, I launched my own jewelry line centered on originality, craftsmanship, and artistic expression. My work incorporates a variety of techniques, including distinctive inlay fusion methods that combine stones of different shapes, colors, and origins. Drawing inspiration from both Western and Nepalese aesthetics, I strives to create jewelry that bridges my culture and tells a unique story.
In addition to my signature collections, I designs custom pieces for clients who seek meaningful jewelry to commemorate a special purpose, milestone, or moment. That's when "Wired" by Janice was born. Each knit or crochet design is created using plated wire that is tarnish resistant, lead and nickel free as well as glass, stone plated and shell beads.
Surprisingly lightweight, most necklaces have a magnetic clasp. Pins, bracelets and earrings round out the line.
Whether wearing with your favorite jeans or your little black dress, you will receive many compliments on your unique accessory.

Meet the artist Lee Harrelson
Save the date Saturday August 29th

Lee Harrelson is an artist based in Birmingham Alabama driven by an endless fascination with materials, textures and stories. His creative journey began at 15 with photography sparked by his brothers 35mm camera and darkroom. That passion shaped a 35 year career as a commercial photographer- spanning fashion food and film production until he closed his studio in 2020 to embrace art on his terms.

In the early 90s he stumbled upon canvases and began smudging oil paints as therapy. That led him to more artistic experimental using alternative applications.

His real shift came in 2020 when he rediscovered the beauty of metal. A weathered copper sheet reminded me how patinas can create mesmerizing colors. Heat, flame, smoke and chemical reactions became his new tools to transform copper and metal.

Over time he taught himself MIG, TIG, and oxygen-acetyne welding. His process is experimental, tactical and rooted in discovery.
Its about more than the finished piece- its about hours of focus and tools in his hands and endless what ifs.

He is inspired by the forgotten and weathered objects with stories etched in their surfaces. His work breathes new life into materials and objects to give them new life.

Lee wants his work to inspire curiosity and inspiration.

Toby Klein is an award winning published artist, exhibiting her work locally and internationally. Her art is in many permanent and corporate collections, as well as personal collections throughout the US, Europe and Israel.
Like a realistic kaleidoscope, Toby's art is created with a burst of color, symmetry of design and motion all captured in "The artist Kaleidoscope world". An artist for 31 years, her goal in creating work is to intrigue each person by drawing their eye into the piece of art, while holding it there so they may see all the intricate detail. In developing her style, she has strove for her work to be unusual and different from other artists and shows her love of color, depth and texture. She is a mixed media and kiln form glass artist, whose work is contemporary and ranges from different degrees of abstraction and experimental to representational. Her glass and mixed media images show the use of color, design and techniques as seen through the artist eyes.
