Losing a dog is never easy, and making the decision of when to let them go can be one of the hardest parts of loving them.
For the last handful of years, my mom has been the ultimate retirement home for Stryker, my Chinese Crested who went to live with her when he was ready for a life made up mostly of laps, couches, snuggles, and being spoiled all day long. 💕
Yesterday, she made the difficult decision to help him cross the Rainbow Bridge.
As sad as it is when our companions are no longer with us, I feel a lot of peace knowing Stryker was able to leave this earth without pain or suffering, surrounded by love right up until the very end.
Here’s to giving these guys absolutely everything they deserve during the time we get with them—knowing it could never come close to everything they give us in return.
Until we meet again, Stryker. 🌈🐾💕
