A quick update from Illuminator:

We are in the process of making some directional changes, and we’re excited about where things may be headed.

During this transition, we are not accepting new installation clients or scheduling new installation projects.

Current clients may still contact us directly with questions about existing projects, past work, or manufacturer warranty information.

We are grateful for the support our community has shown us over the years and look forward to sharing more about the next chapter of Illuminator when the time is right.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

That harsh LED feeling may not be because the light is LED.

Sometimes the real problem is glare.

Glare often happens when a bulb is exposed, a fixture is placed where the light hits your eyes directly, or the room has more brightness than it needs in the wrong places.

The answer is not always “less light.”

Sometimes the answer is better shielding, a softer shade, a diffuser, dimming, or placing the fixture where the light works with the room instead of against it.

Good lighting is not just bright.

It is comfortable.

Not all LEDs perform the same.

Some LED bulbs and fixtures can flicker because of the product itself, the driver inside the fixture, the electrical supply, or the way the light works with a switch or dimmer.

Sometimes the flicker is obvious. Other times, you may not clearly see it, but the light still feels uncomfortable.

This does not mean LED lighting is automatically the problem.

It may mean the bulb, fixture, driver, switch, or dimmer combination is not the right fit.

Good lighting is not just about saving energy.
It is about comfort, quality, and choosing the right product for the space.

Blue light is not automatically bad.

It is part of daylight, and during the day it can help us feel more awake and alert.

The issue is timing.

At night, bright white or blue-heavy light can work against the way our bodies naturally wind down. That is one reason some rooms feel better in the evening with warmer, softer, dimmable light.

And yes — LED lighting can provide warm light.

This does not mean LED lighting is the problem. It means the lighting needs to fit the room, the time of day, and the way you actually live in the space.

Good lighting is not just about brightness.
It is about comfort.

We’ve been hearing more people ask questions about LED lighting lately — especially when it comes to comfort, sleep, glare, flicker, and why some LEDs just feel harsh in a home.

Those concerns are worth understanding.

LED lighting is not automatically the problem, but the wrong LED lighting can absolutely feel uncomfortable.

We put together a straightforward article for homeowners who are trying to make sense of it:
LED Lighting, Comfort, and Health: What Homeowners Should Know

It covers what can make LED lighting feel bad, what to watch for, and how better lighting choices can help a room feel warmer, softer, and more comfortable.

Good lighting starts before the fixture goes up.

For this project, we're installing LED high bays with rotating modules and selectable wattage, giving the client more control over where the light goes and how much output they need.

That's the difference between simply replacing the fixtures and actually improving the lighting.

Lighting is our lane - but a good project often takes more than lighting.

That's one reason we're grateful to be part of a local business networking group here on the Western Slope. It helps us stay connected with other professionals who care about serving local homeowners and businesses well.

When someone asks, "Do you know someone who can help with that?" We like being abke to say, "Yes, we probably do."

Local connections matter.

Shops and garages count too.

Good lighting is not just for kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms.

Garages, shops, and workspaces need lighting that helps you actually use the space — without fighting shadows, dark corners, or harsh glare.

Sometimes the goal is not to make everything brighter.

It is to make the space work better.

Before you buy that fixture, ask one question:

Will it actually work in the room?

A fixture can look great in the store and still be too harsh, too dim, the wrong color, or placed where it creates glare and shadows.

That’s where a lighting consultation helps.

We help Western Slope homeowners think through placement, brightness, color, comfort, and the look of the fixture before money gets spent on something that may not solve the problem.

Pretty matters.
Practical matters too.

Good morning, North Fork Valley 👋

We introduced ourselves in a few local community pages this week, and I just wanted to say thanks to those who saw it, followed along, or took a moment to check us out.

Illuminator Lighting is based right here in the North Fork Valley, and our goal is simple: help homes, shops, garages, and small businesses get lighting that actually works for the space.

Sometimes that means replacing a fixture.
Sometimes it means talking through brightness, color temperature, glare, placement, or controls before anything gets installed.

LED is not the finish line.
Good lighting is.

Thanks for following along — we’re glad you’re here.
