I am Denise Stefanko, the owner of Morning Glory Mercantile in Prudenville near Houghton Lake in beautiful Northern Michigan. I retired from a corporate job in 2014. Shortly after that my husband Joe, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and I moved to 140 acres near Houghton Lake and purchased Morning Glory. In our spare time, we enjoy first our family, riding our Harley, and camping. Morning Glory is a multi-vendor r

etail store with more than 30 small businesses contributing to the merchandise for sale. It is just the perfect combination of vintage, handmade, and new items. If you are looking for Home Décor, a gift for that special person, casual clothes for a day at the lake or a night out, or just that unusual item that you just cannot live without we can help you out. We also have a DIY area where we sell Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint, Roycycled Treasures decoupage papers, and IOD products. Before purchasing the store, I had a side hustle for 15 years selling vintage and painted items. The business name was Denise’s Dream. It was literally always a dream to do this full time. She had a small modest home, but she had a knack for finding the most beautiful antiques for a dime. As a child, I loved to look at her finds and listen to her stories about how she acquired them. My dream has been realized and I wish my grandma was here to share this with. I would give her a cup of tea, she would cross her legs, lean forward with interest, and we would share stories of how we acquired beautiful things to put in our homes and yours to enjoy. Lots going on at Morning Glory!

Many restocks with new items in the last few days. We are rearranging and there are a few sales going on.

Vendor #100 in the Boutique has sales on clothes- sale are clothes. Sale clothes are all Red Lined
30% off of spring/summer clothes. 50% off Fall/Winter clothes. (Sweatshirts not on sale)

Vendor BM's booth has 25% off all item in their vintage booth.

WE WILL BE CLOSED ON MEMORIAL DAY.

How can we thank you enough?! The support this weekend was unbelievably fabulous. It was great to see so many Morning Glory friends. My oh my it was not sunny but it sure seems like that diabolical winter of 2025/2026 is behind us!

The big room in the back is completely redone and looks so good. New items arriving every day accross the store.

Be sure to continue to shop local. We love what we do and you allow us to keep doing it. Thank you.
