This post is a necessary evil and I have been in absolute knots for the past several months trying to find a way to avoid it. We have made the very tough decision to pause our subscription box. There are honestly more reasons than I can cover in this post, but with supply chain issues and the cost of our supplies doubling in most areas and quadrupling in some, we simply cannot continue at this time. It is heartbreaking. Constantly missing deadlines and targets because the wood of today is not the wood of yesterday and it takes 3 times as long to laser cut a project only to find a weak spot or void that makes it unusable...it's more than we can handle. I used lie awake thinking about the next project, too excited to sleep. Now, when I collapse into bed missing my family and a decent night's sleep, all the things left undone and all the perceived/anticipated disappointments from our subscribers, plague me until I fall asleep in the middle of a distracted, anxious prayer. I don’t want to allow this lifestyle to continue and more importantly you all deserve boxes that were designed and packaged with excitement and joy you can sense the moment you open it!…not the exhaustion, fear, and anxiety we’ve been trying to hide.
I share all of this not for sympathy, but because it's important to me that you know why we're doing this and that we didn't just get bored or lazy or throw in the towel at the first struggle. I have thought of so many ways to pivot and improve, but we need time to test and perfect those ideas...this pause will allow us to do that. If you’re a subscriber (past or present) and you’re interested in joining a test/pilot/study group, we’d love to have you – reach out however you prefer and we’ll send you more info! As always, we welcome any and all respectful feedback. We will be reaching out to all current subscribers very soon and Valentine boxes will be shipping this week! Thank you all so much for sticking with us!
Happy Painting and Much Love, Christen
