Queso Blanco Ingredients:
2 cups Great Value Whole Milk
2lbs Great Value Pepper Jack Cheese Block
8oz Great Value Mozzarella Cheese Block
8oz Great Value Monterey Jack Cheese Block
1/2 cup Great Value Unbleached Flour
48 oz Lean Ground Beef
2 Tbsp white wine (vinegar)
1/2 cup neutral oil or butter
1/2 large white onion (diced)
1 Tbsp garlic
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp adobo seasoning
Serve with Great Value Tortilla Chips or Bettergoods Blue Corn Chips
Recipe:
Make sure your cheese blocks have been either shredded or cut into 1-inch cubes
Bring a saute pan to medium heat
Add your oil, once it’s warmed through
Add your diced onions and cook until translucent
Add your seasonings, bloom your spices
Deglaze with white wine or vinegar
Add your ground beef and cook until there is no more pink
Remove from heat, set aside
Bring a medium saucepan to medium heat
Add your neutral oil or butter and allow it to heat through
Then add your flour and mix until it develops the texture of wet sand, this is your roux
Once combined, add your milk
With a whisk, stir until there are no more clumps
After the milk and roux are combined, begin adding your cheese shreds/cubes, a handful at a time.
Add the next handful once the previous handful has melted through. This is so you don’t overwhelm the pot.
Once all the cheese shreds/cubes have melted, add the cooked ground beef to the melted cheese.
Serve by itself or with Great Value Restaurant Style Salsa and Great Value Tortilla Chips and enjoy!
