A little design reflection from one of my favorite kitchens.

For years, one of the most common requests from homeowners was “Can we add more storage?” Especially in the kitchen.

But that’s changing. More and more people are realizing that open walls and open shelves bring something storage never could: space, light, and a sense of calm.

When you can see and reach the things you actually use every day, your home starts to feel more alive and more you.

This living room is a love letter to mixing styles and stories—mid-century lines, a modern fireplace, curated gallery wall, plush textures, and yes… a pup who rules it all. The key to eclectic design? Layering with intention. Let each piece tell its own story, then let them all talk to each other.

We’re proud to share that our latest project has been recognized as an Airbnb Guest Favorite, with guests rating it highly for comfort and design. Over the past 10 months, Luxe and Logic Design has been refining the art of crafting spaces for short-term rentals. The team takes great pride in creating environments that are not only visually appealing but also comfortable and functional, tailored to meet the needs of guests. This recent project presented a unique challenge: to design a space using primarily existing furniture, with only essential items added to enhance the experience.

Throughout this journey, Luxe and Logic Design has gained valuable insights into how different people utilize rental spaces, observing patterns and preferences. Located near downtown, the majority of guests stay for events like weddings, concerts, and conferences, or to reconnect with friends while exploring the city.

One of our key discoveries is that 80% of guests exceed expectations, while the remaining 20% provide opportunities for growth and improvement. It’s also noteworthy that only a few guests thoroughly read the descriptions, with slightly more taking the time to review house rules.

With the space now 90% complete, the Luxe and Logic Design team is nearly ready to call this project finished and is excited to embark on the next one. It's said that the selection of a chair in design is quite important as the connection to the person is more intimate than we realize. After all, we do come into physical contact with chairs daily.

Ergonomics, aesthetics, craftsmanship, and value all play important parts in the design of a chair. What do you look for in chairs when it comes to design? How often do you consider these factors?

Let's talk about the details and why we made the selections we did. 💁‍♀️ The original wasn't much to look at and enjoy so we wanted to make sure that every effort was put towards creating an environment worth spending time in.

The bathroom is one of the most used rooms in a home so each touch can make or break a living experience. Details matter! When we design, we design with experiences in mind rather than just using current trends. It makes for a lasting impression as well as for a better living experience.
