Part 3 of checking in at the Friendswood project! I love these visits, it’s where design decisions start to take shape. Walking through the site gives me a chance to problem solve, make adjustments, and get a real feel for how everything is coming to life. (Also, the sun was definitely doing its best to blind me this day!)

It’s a little messy, a little unfinished, but this stage is one of my favorites.

There’s something so special about watching a space come to life! It may be all ladders and rebar now, but I can already see the heart of this home starting to take shape.

Designing a home is rarely a straight line, and this one has been a colorful, joy-filled journey from the very beginning.

From selecting finishes in a Waco showroom just days before my own family’s big move, to working with this bold, fun-loving client virtually across state lines, this project has been a true labor of love.

Last month, I got to return for an in-person Designer for a Day session, and I left feeling so full—of gratitude, laughter, creativity (and baby snuggles). Projects like this remind me why I do what I do.
