MaRS Culture has long been inspired by Houston’s vibrant arts scene. In 2014, our founder, Kelie Mayfield, attended the unveiling of Selven O’Keef Jarmon’s “360 Degrees Vanishing” project at Barbara Davis Gallery, a large-scale installation that brought international collaboration and cultural exchange to Houston.

The exhibit, which draped the Art League Houston building in 600,000 beads, highlighted the power of design, craft, and storytelling to activate spaces and connect communities. Moments like these remind us why art, culture, and intentional design are at the heart of what we do.

The exhibit, seven years in the making, will bring 16 skilled beaders from co-ops in the Eastern Cape of South Africa to Houston to create the huge installation.

T3 RiNo has been recognized with an ENR Denver Best Project award in the Office/Retail/Mixed-Use category.

Delivered by The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and Hines, the project reflects a forward-looking approach to workplace design. It incorporates sustainable structure, reduced embodied carbon, and a warm, human-centered interior experience that supports both tenant wellness and long-term market value.

MaRS Culture served as interior design partner on T3 RiNo, with a focus on material authenticity, natural texture, and a workplace environment that brings craft and comfort into modern office settings. Judges’ selections highlight design and construction innovation

Brava continues to make headlines (literally).

Our resident amenity kitchen, anchored by a custom 23-foot island topped with Calacatta marble and porcelain, was recently featured in an story on how Brava reimagines luxury through the lens of Houston's newspaper history. Every detail connects back to the site's past, from sculptural art inspired by printed color to warm, paper-toned materials that nod to the stories once told here. Midway's 150-acre East River Houston development is transforming Houston's East End into a vibrant, mixed-use destination. A recent highlight is the Moonstruck Drive-In Cinema, a collaboration between Midway and Moonstruck, featuring films projected on a 40-foot-by-80-foot structure made of shipping containers. This initiative exemplifies how thoughtful design and community engagement can activate urban spaces.

As interior designers for The Laura, a 360-unit residential project within East River, MaRS Culture is proud to contribute to this dynamic development. Our work on The Laura reflects a commitment to creating spaces that blend functionality, aesthetics, and community impact.

2811 Maple has opened in Uptown Dallas, introducing a new benchmark for luxury residential living in the market.

Developed by Crescent Real Estate LLC, the 31-story tower is now the tallest residential building in Uptown. The project is designed with a hospitality-driven residential model centered on privacy, service, and high-touch amenities.

MaRS Culture served as interior design partner, leading the art curation program and shaping the interiors with a focus on material richness, texture, and a boutique sense of scale. The property features 27 commissioned and curated works of art that reinforce the building’s architectural narrative and elevate the resident experience.

The tower is already attracting residents seeking a lock-and-leave lifestyle in an active urban setting, supported by proximity to top dining offerings and cultural destinations within the district.
