If you haven’t listened to Episode One of The World of Bill Stubbs Podcast yet, now is a great time to catch up.

Join us as we explore the influence of Anna Wintour and Paige Rense, two women who helped shape the worlds of luxury, design, and culture through the power of editorial vision.

A fascinating conversation and one of my favorites so far.

You spend about 30 minutes a day in your laundry room. That’s 182 hours a year in a space most people treat like a closet. I design laundry rooms the same way I design living rooms because beauty in the everyday matters. Charcoal walls hide lint. Custom cabinetry with pullout hampers means no baskets on the floor. Mosaic hex tiles are classic and hides wear. Brass
fixtures add warmth.

Don’t miss Episode One of The World of Bill Stubbs Podcast. Now Live.

We dive into “The Devil Wears Prada Dynamic” and the cultural influence of Anna Wintour at Vogue and Paige Rense at Architectural Digest during the height of editorial power. A fascinating conversation about luxury, taste, influence, and the people who shape how we see design.

One of my favorite conversations we’ve recorded so far.

The World of Bill Stubbs podcast launched today.

First episode: the AD100 and the era when Architectural Digest editors wielded Anna Wintour-level power in luxury design. Think The Devil Wears Prada, but for interiors.

Recording this episode showcased the influence of Anna Wintour at Vogue and Paige Rense at Architectural Digest during the height of both publications’ cultural power. Two women who shaped not just what people read, but how they thought about beauty, luxury, and aspiration.

Episode one is live. More to come on design, lifestyle, and the decisions behind beautiful spaces. Link in bio.

The most beautiful environments are not only designed to be seen. They are designed to be lived in.

Most people treat bathrooms like afterthoughts, but I’ve always believed that they should be treated like experiences. Our client’s home featured here has toile wallpaper for movement, geometric floor tile for structure, a freestanding tub because it’s for relaxation not efficiency, and brass fixtures for warmth against cool marble. More design detail than some living rooms.

Because why should functional rooms be boring?

The best rooms never rely on a single statement piece. They rely on balance.

Texture layered against texture. Soft neutrals grounded with natural materials. Architectural ceiling details that quietly frame the room rather than overpower it. Even the fireplace becomes part of the composition instead of competing for attention. Every element contributes to the overall experience.

I've never designed a kitchen around a trend because trends last five years and a good kitchen should last thirty.

Designing for the coast is about selecting materials that get better with time, not worse.

Teak and wicker for outdoor furniture. Solution-dyed fabrics that feel like linen are stain resistant and won't fade after one summer. Limestone that stays cool even when it's 95 degrees.

Your home should work with the environment, not fight it.

Lighting is one of the first things we consider at the very start of a project. It shapes how every other element is experienced. You can have the right materials, the right layout, the right furniture but without the right lighting, the space never fully comes together.
