Meg Lonergan Interiors THE SOUL IS IN THE STORY

Meg Lonergan Interiors shares stories that inspire and educate.

Each project is a narrative that connects people to the beauty, meaning, and possibilities within design. Since founding her company in 2009, Meg LeSueur Lonergan has become one of Houston’s most in-demand designers, known for creating sophisticated interiors that highlight homeowners’ sensibilities and personalities. Born in South Louisiana but uprooted at an early age, Meg lived abroad in Singap

ore, New Zealand, and France until she moved to Houston with her Kiwi husband. Her design ethos stays true to Southern elegance, tradition and history while reflecting her multi-cultural exposure. Clients turn to Meg for her keen eye to mix the old with the new, the classic with inventive, fine antiques with flea market finds, and eclectic with traditional. She creates unique designs by harmonizing her client’s tastes and treasures with custom art, accessories, antiques, draperies and furniture. Meg is very attentive to design details and takes a hands-on approach for every project whether it is a simple refresh or a new construction home. Meg Lonergan and her work has been featured in the Houston Chronicle, The Scout Guide Houston, Texas Home & Living, Better Homes and Gardens and House Beautiful magazine.

We worked with and to renovate this ’90s home in Southampton. We squared up the original bay window and added paneling, which brought so much intention and presence to the interior architecture. This cozy, casual dining nook was born from that transformation and it’s now a space the family enjoys every day.

A little insight into our approach to plumbing selections…

Plumbing might not be the first thing that comes to mind when imagining your dream home, but it’s an important place to invest. Your primary bathroom is one of the spaces you’ll spend the most time in, and making it luxurious will truly serve you.

Full tour of our recent project in Tarrytown, Austin.

The collection of art is our favorite part of this project. It feels very Texas, and brings the outside in. These homeowners have excellent taste and weren’t afraid of anything, and we loved layering a wide mix of art and furnishings from different areas in their home.

Our favorite moments might be the Framed Jean Picard Le Doux tapestry entitled “Concerto,” which nods to the husband‘s love of music. We also enlarged a Polaroid of the client’s father from the 1970s and mounted it in the entryway. They are both equally impactful and meaningful. And that’s what a home should be, a reflection of who the people are who live there.

Designing for kids isn’t about sacrificing beauty — it’s about durability. We upholstered this banquette in a vinyl that looks like leather, so spills wipe right off. And the pillows are covered in worn vintage textiles so extra wear just adds to their character.

A few of the details in our client’s new kitchen. Even in a speculative home, we were able to design with handmade and custom elements that made this kitchen feel considered and uniquely theirs.

No matter how beautiful a portfolio image is, it can never capture the time, teamwork and momentous effort it took to bring that space to life. A photo shows the finished moment, but not the months (sometimes years) of decisions, revisions, craftsmanship and collaboration behind it. That’s what we see when we look at our photos. Of course we’re proud of the beauty we created, but we’re even more proud of the hard work and teamwork it took to bring it all together. 💫

A tour of our client’s entry! This space sets the tone for the entire home. You’re greeted by Mick Jagger—who our client once met, and that life‑changing moment inspired this art moment. It’s such a cool introduction to the house and captures our favorite part of interior design: expressing yourself. 🎸🤘🏻🎶

We’re so excited to show you around our latest Houston project, featured in !

These clients opted for a musical lounge in lieu of a formal dining room, and it was so much fun bringing this space to life.

They love, listening to music and have an extensive record collection, and we wanted this room to be a cozy and memorable space for them to hang out with friends. We chose a deep mossy green from in a limewash finish and it sets the tone for the whole home.

We sourced the framed records from Ruth Davis’ shop, and they are definitely the star of the space! This is definitely the coolest room in the home and it’s the first thing people see when they walk in the door. 👏🏻

Stay tuned for more from this project next week!
