The planning, building, and install of our built-ins all squished into 30 seconds. We’ve been living with them for the last 2 months and absolutely love them- we would work from the most random spots before, and REALLY missed the office I designed in our previous house. There’s still some tweaking that needs to be done, and I need to choose an epic finish for the wall; I’m trying to decide between tile, wallpaper, or a 3D treatment. Thoughts?

Also, did you guess the surprise announcement?? 👶🏻 A lot of y’all messaged me and did guess it- especially since I went MIA back in November-January. 😁

I have about two weeks (or less) left and am trying to get everything ready, while simultaneously still working on the house. 🤪

***Just realized this never posted from Instagram!**

Although the final choice for the concrete floors was a contingency plan, I really ended up loving how it ties the house together. The gray concrete paint is the perfect medium between the black doors and the white walls. 😍

As for durability, so far it’s been holding up really well, even when Sophie zips through the house on her scooter. 👧🏻

It’s time for paint colors!! After all of the renovations, moving of walls, removing of doors and replacing windows, the finishing touch was paint.

I knew the feeling I wanted the house to evoke; bright and light. I went with Sherwin Williams’ Pure White for the walls and for major contrast, Black Magic on doors and window frames. Pure white has an LRV (light reflective value) of 84, which means it’s a soft white without being harsh or creamy. Perfect for this space 😍

What was your favorite before/after in this video? I think mine is the hallway and casement windows. 🪟

The final look of the half bath!! I love how it turned out.

Even though one window was removed, it’s still super bright and light. 🌞
I decided to remove/replace the windows for multiple reasons, the fact that both leaked and the lower one was placed a little awkward and did not provide the privacy needed for a bathroom.

Everything else I chose for sturdiness and to tie in to the modern look I’m going for.

What’s your favorite aspect of this space?

**Oh yea. That blurry blob is me squished into a corner trying to take a good picture 😂😂👀**

I got quite a few DMs asking about the floor plan and asking for some clarification on my last few posts. I realize it was pretty confusing, so I thought I would share some before and after snips I took of the floor plan.
You can see where we added doors: hallway into bedroom and bedroom into bathroom. Where we added drywall: to cover the tunnel, and in 2 walls of the nook. And then the barn door we just switched from one side of the wall to the other.
This week is all about paint, baseboards, and moving walls in other rooms. What color do you think Sophie picked for her room? 🤔
