Mann Design

Mann Design We are an award-winning interior design firm that gives back to education and the arts. Our homes are where we live our lives.

We truly believe that exceptional design can provide balance to all parts of life. Spaces and rooms where we gather, relax, rejuvenate, laugh, and so much more. When I approach a new project, I honor these activities and the people in their environments as places to create beautiful lives. Design is not necessarily the walls; design is the space between the walls. I believe good design is more abo

ut how a space makes you feel. Our team’s priority is to interpret each client’s individual needs — we work together to create a favorable living environment within the framework of exceptional design. We achieve this balance through the use of scale and proportion, the combination of architectural elements, lighting details, and an organic flow. I love the natural environment; therefore I keep the visual connection between the built and the natural from the very beginning of a project. From the first strokes on a sketchpad to hanging that last piece of art on the wall — the journey is worth it.

The color ochre carries warmth and a quiet depth. There is comfort in it and a connection to something ancient. It works best when it feels found rather than forced.

As we look ahead, we’re energized for what the new year will bring, while holding space for those who’ve experienced hardship or loss. Thank you for being part of our community and for trusting us with your spaces.

Wishing you a peaceful close to the year and warm, joyful holidays with the people who matter most.

A new is up on the blog. 💛

This time we're talking all about chartreuse. Somewhere between green and yellow, chartreuse is equal parts electric and natural, modern and timeless.

Our Story

"What is design? Some say it’s how something looks, what color it is, how it is shaped, what the texture feels like, or simply form. While those things hold true, I believe that design is more about how something makes you feel, and those other things are attributes to compliment the real heart of design. Like all great music, wine, and relationships, successful design is a complex process that takes time to develop. This process involves taking the client's unrealized dreams - things imagined, fleeting ideas, bits and pieces torn from magazines, and turning these ingredients into something unique. The design process involves the trust that develops when the client understands that the designer brings those unique attributes needed to turn dreams into realities. I enjoy the simple pleasures of life that we all share: time with family and friends, cooking, music, the outdoors, the arts, the ability to come home from a long day and slump into that favorite chair to relax and not be slave to a schedule - just to relax and be. From the first meeting between client and designer, through the first strokes on a sketchpad, to the moment when the last piece of art is hanging on the wall, the process is worth it. It's all there, and it all works together, and the effect will endure. My desire is to work with my client on this journey of discovery. The realization of one's dreams is a grand adventure. It will be worth it." -Shannon Mann, Founder of Mann Designs
