And she’s done! I was so afraid I’ll crack I wasn’t sure if I should even post about in the first place couple of weeks ago. But it survived piecing it together, carving and bisque, it survived glazing, and final firing. She’s finally all done and I’m so happy with the result 😊
What do you think? Was it worth all the time and effort?

And if you don’t believe me you can Google it too!
Anyways, with my iced double shot of espresso late i know I’m invincible 🤪
I wasn’t planning to make more than 1 of these (perks of being a potter- you (make/) get all the cool stuff you can think of), but I think I’ll make a few for Markets For Makers Austin too.

She’s all done! This is the biggest bowl I’ve made so far. About 15 lbs of clay, extra large wheel bat, and some self encouragement- that’s all ✨ things are not as scary as we make them to be in our heads 😉
I’ve been working on few bigger pieces and I can tell you right now I want to do more! This past couple of weeks were fun and challenging and exciting all at the same time.

This is about how wide my little Skutt Kilns km 822 allows me to throw, but just wait until fall semester 😎 can’t wait to be back at Glassell School of Art and fire in their BIG kilns 🔥

Quick video of vase assembly from last night… assembly that took me an hour and a half 🌚
Yep, I’m not the quickest potter out there. I can’t really throw big. But I really enjoy every minute of the process.
I hope to have this vase carved in couple of days. I’ll share more updates on stories. If it survives firings you’ll be the first ones to know 🫶🏻
Im already proud on this one… and how much I’ve learned in last few years- as an artist, as a potter, and a business owner.

This cracked bowl isn’t going to the trash. It’s staying on my glaze shelf.

I divided this bowl into sections and tested glaze combinations using mostly and glazes, with a little mixed in. Check out the comment section for details!

Some results were exactly what I expected… others turned out even better 😉.

Which combo is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Bringing back the bubble design, adding a vase this time around too 🙂

This one is a valentines edition. What colors should I do next?
