Recent obsession (beside animals in cowboy hats) - acorn jars

It started with an idea for a cool dog treat jar and obsession with airbrushing underglaze.

What do you think? Too whimsy? Perfect amount of whimsy? Well, I loved mine so much I made more :)

POV: an idea won’t leave your brain until you physically make it.

So now we have Matryoshka dolls… but pottery.

I threw them on the wheel.
Added tiny handles.
Bisque fired them.
And today they got their underglaze makeover.

They’re getting a clear glaze later and going into the kiln this weekend.

But I need help deciding something…

Say hi to most loyal studio assistant.

✨ Stormy ✨

Always ready to spend evenings right next to me in the garage- whether I’m throwing, glazing (thankfully dog hair burns in the kiln and leaves on marks on finished pieces 🤪), or loading/unloading the kiln. And she’s super inexpensive helper too. All she wants in exchange for her company is to occasionally nibble on half dry clay trimmings that fall on the floor sometimes.
