Our doors are open tomorrow.

This Saturday, September 5th, the De Petra studio is open from 12–4 PM — and we'd love for you to wander in. Every piece is one of a kind, shaped and finished by hand by Lorena Medinilla right here in Houston, which means what you fall for exists nowhere else in the world.

Come try things on, meet Lorena, and find the piece that was clearly made for you. If you've admired De Petra at Kuhl-Linscomb or the MFAH shop, this is your chance to see the newest work up close — and take it home the same day.

The Cosmic Eye Brooch is on depetra.com — $450.
Lorena has been building this piece for 18 years. Not this exact piece — her mastery of it. Every version is one of a kind. This one has a baroque pearl, a pavé crystal ball, a sterling bird charm, silk tassels in indigo, and an iridescent leather center that shifts from magenta to amber depending on the light.
It has lived in Anthropologie. In Free People. At the MFA Houston.
Now it's here, directly from her hands. One piece. One person.

The Cosmic Eye Pin is now live on depetra.com — $320.
Lorena built this by hand. Every bead placed with intention. The eye watches, protects, speaks. Mounted on a 3-inch gold safety pin, it pins to a blazer, a coat, a scarf — anywhere you want something extraordinary to begin a conversation.
One piece. One person gets to own it.

She changed her name to mean renewal. She painted life like it was a dare.
She refused to be a muse when she could be the artist.

The Nahui is named for her.

Five strands. Purple fluorite. Red tourmaline. Amethyst. A hammered gold heart.
Silk tassels that move when you move. 18 years of De Petra craft in one piece.

Wearable art. $750. One of a kind.

👁️ Only one exists. Seriously.
Meet Occhio del Cosmo — Lorena's latest handcrafted talisman necklace, and it just dropped at $220.
A 2-inch eye-shaped leather pouch hand-filled with crystal quartz, wrapped in sage green embroidery and seed beadwork, edged in polished silver hematite cubes.
