PleinAir Southwest 2026 has wrapped up. It was my first competition and show, so the whole experience felt a bit overwhelming, and I’m still trying to process everything I learned. Overall, it was exciting to participate in this event. I enjoyed meeting collectors and artists from all over the country, and making new friends.

When setting up this still life, I had a few goals in mind:
• Work on a larger canvas (I’m used to 8×10–9×12 sizes).
• Paint clear glass — something I had never attempted before.
• Explore complementary color harmony (I love how greens and pinks work together).

I originally ordered pink lilies, but they arrived as green closed buds. A week later they bloomed — and surprised me with beautiful white lilies. 😀
