Ouch - you got your wedding floral quote back and it is quite a bit higher than you expected - what’s your next step?
Before you reply with a “no thank you”, here are three questions to ask your florist:
🌷 “We are really looking forward to working with you - what are some places you’d suggest I scale back to stay within our budget?” - you may think you’re playing all your cards by saying you would really like to work with us but, spoiler alert, if we didn’t want to work with you too you’d have never seen a quote to begin with 🙊 We can always adjust here and there to find ways to meet you where you’re comfortable!
🌷 “Knowing my overall vision, what would you say are the high impact moments we should invest in and what to skip?” - Those high impact moments (aka high investments!) are important and you know what - bud vases on cocktail tables really aren’t. Trust our judgment! We take into account your venue, style, and main desires for photos when adjusting your proposal.
🌷 “I love what you have put together - it’s beautiful but more than what we wanted to spend. We would like to be closer to [dollar amount] - is there a way to make that happen?” - Being up front about what you want to spend helps us decide quickly if we are the right florist for you and if so, how we can make it work. Also cuts out a lot of back and forth emails, texts, and phone calls.
Hope this helps!
