Designed as part of a larger retreat property, this ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) was created to give guests a sense of independence while still feeling connected to the main home.
This particular one sits above the garage which is common, though they certainly aren’t always designed that way. I was just speaking with this client recently, and her son and his family are coming to stay this summer. It’s become the perfect little getaway within a getaway for everyone.
The kitchen itself may be compact, but it functions beautifully for guests with generous prep space, open shelving for everyday essentials, and an easy flow into the living area. Surrounded by views of the trees, it’s the kind of space that naturally invites slow mornings, casual meals, and long weekends with family and friends.

Layering is one of the most important parts of creating a home that feels warm, balanced, and personal.

It’s the blend of materials, texture, collections, lighting, textiles, and meaningful pieces gathered over time that give a space depth. The rooms that feel the most inviting are rarely the ones that feel overly polished or perfectly arranged. They feel lived in, relaxed, and reflective of the people inside them.

Sometimes it’s a stack of books, a velvet chair paired with marble and brass, or the way a throw is casually draped instead of perfectly placed. Those subtle layers are often what make a home feel complete.

And in our opinion, every beautifully layered space is even better with a dog in it.

Even the most functional spaces in a home should feel connected to the overall experience of living there.

In this pantry and scullery, we approached the design with the same level of care as the main living spaces — considering materiality, proportion, and how the space supports daily routines in a seamless way. Open shelving creates room for pieces that feel collected over time — vintage finds, inherited objects, and everyday items that deserve to be seen rather than tucked away.

The smallest moments in a home often shape how it feels to live there.

Memorial Day is always like the unofficial beginning of outdoor living season.

Long evenings outside. Casual dinners that stretch late into the night. Doors left open. Spaces designed as much for gathering as they are for slowing down.

We believe outdoor living should feel just as intentional as the interiors of a home — comfortable, inviting, and easy to live in all summer long.

With a long weekend ahead and summer gatherings right around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about the details that make a table feel inviting, layered, and memorable. From playful pastels and citrus-inspired palettes to coastal textures and vibrant color combinations, this latest Perspective is a collection of pieces I would happily build an entire season of entertaining around.

Whether you’re hosting friends for dinner, planning a casual outdoor gathering, or simply looking for a little seasonal inspiration, I hope this edit encourages you to make the everyday feel a bit more celebratory.

Beautiful spaces should reveal themselves slowly.

We are often less interested in immediate impact and more interested in creating rooms that continue to feel inspiring over time — spaces layered with texture, sculptural form, collected objects, and subtle moments that invite a second look.

The more you look, the more you learn.

Three perspectives. Three palettes. One shared language of texture, color, and materiality.

From earthy layers inspired by the Moroccan Sahara to organic movement pulled from floral forms and sculptural textiles, each composition reflects a distinct point of view while exploring how materials shape the feeling of a space.

A study in contrast, balance, and the details that bring a room to life.
