This laundry room refresh deserves a post in addition to a reel! Lovely clients had a good sized laundry room that also served as a mudroom, but it was not functional. It lacked storage, counter space, and was fairly Plain Jane. I found a ceramic tile that mimics slate, and chose to lay it in a herringbone pattern in order to create some texture in the room. The clients love blue, so I selected a calming and hazy shade that worked with the fabulous quartzite countertops and blue, white, and gray marble backsplash. I designed tall cabinets to hold shoe shelves and cleaning supplies, a drop zone for mail, keys and bags -conveniently located by the door- and a wonderful bench seat for perfect place to sit and put on or take off shoes. Near the washer and dryer I hid laundry basket storage and placed a rod for items to hang dry ( plus a wall mounted butler’s rack folds down for long items to hang dry). I’m so pleased for these clients and know that daily life will be a little easier and a little more beautiful.
