Our newest collection signature, the Cord border, is a chunky, twisted-rope profile, cut and sculpted by hand into the stone’s perimeter. A modern classic.

Set against an early-’90s clock, the hand-cut rope reads as a relic — handwork beside a satin steel object that flexes its seamless, precision molded form.

Yet placed beside hand-painted chinoiserie, it moves forward instead: chinoiserie already carves the pliant world into hard material — bamboo into porcelain, lattice into wood — and the Cord reads as the next step in that lineage, flexible rope abstracted into frozen stone.

One object ages it. The other advances it. And in this example, we enjoy the very human gift of relative and referential play. 🛝 🖼️ 🧠
