We’re at part 6? Wow! Let’s keep it going!

1. LOST PATTERN NYC is your place for all things scarves. I think a nice sill scarf is such an underrated accessory. Scarves can be so versatile in that you can use them for your neck, as a hairpiece, as an accent to a purse, a bracelet, etc. They have some really beautiful print options that are very unique.
2. A newly developed obsession of mine this year has been Selenichast_official Their pieces are absolutely full of whimsy from their fruit jewelry to astrology to animals and even some very cute seasonal finds for Halloween as of right now. They currently have this little haunted house locket necklace with a black kitty inside. So fun!
3. Baltic Børn is an unexpected place to find whimsical clothing. I wouldn’t say overall it’s a destination for that aesthetic, but they have some dresses that are very flowy with beautiful prints that are fantastic for a good frolic.
4. I’ve been shopping Unique Vintage for what may be my entire adult life to date. They probably are one of the brands that I have the most saved wish list items. I particularly love them for seasonal finds, like this Christmas lights p***y bow blouse. They just have the most charming pieces full of personality in silhouettes that are classic and flattering.
5. Lastly, JessaKae® is easily in my top five most shopped brands for dresses. All of their pieces have a certain amount of romance in the design. There’s a lot of magic behind the aesthetic and feminine appeal. Also, everything I have from them is so well-made. The appliqué dress I’m wearing in this feels like it’s worth five times the price.

Man, I truly love my closet and that is such a cool thing to get dressed every day and wear pieces that make me feel like I am in a fairytale. I highly recommend the whimsical style world. I don’t even care about buying matching pieces at this point. I just buy things that make me smile and feel pretty and go from there.

Let’s dig right in!

1. Amantine | French Romantic Style is actually an online boutique, not a clothing brand. However, they curate an absolutely beautiful selection of Parisian inspired clothing. I’ve bought a few pieces from them now and all of them were fantastic quality. Also, their packaging was so beautiful and fun to open. It also included a handwritten thank you note. When a brand puts in the effort to make that shopping experience so special, I immediately want to support them indefinitely.
2. If you are serving whimsy on a budget, my two big suggestions are shopping secondhand sites and perusing Cider Of every affordable brand I have shopped for fairytale clothing, they by far have had the best selection of magical clothing items. I’ve bought a lot from them over the years.
3. Whimsical dressing doesn’t have to be all pretty dresses. Whimsy comes in many fonts and it’s different for everyone. I love to include elements of whimsy even in my most casual moments. BANGS Shoes (Official) makes the most stunning embroidered high tops. I’m talking fireflies in jars, the solar system, botanical stamps, insects, etc.
4. Ivy City is probably one of my most shopped brands. I’ve found a lot of beautiful pieces through them that also have a lot of practicality. Some of their newer collections have lovely cottagecore vibes. And don’t sleep on their shoes. They are honestly underrated. Plus, they have amazing sales!
5. Worth Collective is my favorite for a beautiful flowy dress. They are specifically known for being bump friendly, so if you’re pregnant, this is the brand for you. Everything is just so comfy and makes me want to run through a field of flowers.

Stay tuned for part six!

5 years of spooky season dinners. Last year was a bog witch theme, which may be my favorite to date. It’s awfully hard to choose though!

I’ve felt melancholy a lot lately. It feels like fall is coming early and this garden season has been aggressively humbling. My summer harvests have been much smaller this season. I understand Mother Nature is not in my control. I understand that I live on a mountain with harsh conditions. It still stings though. I had high hopes going into this year that I would be shifting toward growing enough for proper winter stores, but that has not been what the earth has given me.

I’m not concluding this with positive words of wisdom because I don’t have them at this juncture. I just couldn’t do anything aside from honesty today. You know, real talk for all the gardeners out there struggling.

I also realize this may look like a ton of success to a lot of people. I’m not saying there’s nothing to be proud of here. However, I have poured my heart and soul into the garden this year. I planted more and got less. I worked harder for worse results. My favorite thing I most look forward to had nature attacking from all angles varying from insects, disease and deer eating their leaves. They were unable to produce in spite of my best efforts. That’s where I’m at and it’s a hard pill to swallow.

Sending good vibes into the universe for those crying over a lack of melons, too. 😅

16 days until September
37 days until Autumn Equinox
76 days until Halloween

I have been a spooky season girlie for my entire life and for the first time ever I’m not excited about autumn. 😅 The weather was so offkilter this year and my summer portion of the garden just hasn’t produced like it should have. It’s been a very unique year for weather. You’d think with all the rain we’ve gotten that the garden would be thriving, but the cooler temperatures really seem to have done a number on the garden. We had some nights dropped to the 50s in July and we have a night forecasted next week with an overnight low of 52°. In mid August! It’s not been great for the summer portion of my garden. Anything but to be honest. I’m praying for a good fall harvest, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up.

Anyway, the garden struggles paired with getting very few pool days has made the summer feel like it lasted five minutes. So, I didn’t feel like I got enough warm weather to feel excited that Fall is coming. I’m already wearing a sweater around the house because it’s too chilly. Lol.

Tell me in the poll what you think!
