Sharing another project from last year! This project meant the world to me to design. It wasn’t just about creating an aesthetically beautiful space, but one that functioned best for my clients’ teenage son who is a wheelchair user. 🤍

Sharing a bit of vulnerability here… when I was trying to decide what career I wanted to study in college, I was torn between three very different career paths: criminal justice, special education, or interior design. I knew I loved design and wanted to do work that involved creativity, but the thing that held me back from jumping in full force was that I didn’t think I’d be able to help people like the other careers. Very last minute, I chose interior design and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been able to design two kitchens now for wheelchair users which has impacted their everyday lives, I’ve had clients tell me with tears in their eyes how they were depressed, but their updated space is helping them now feel happy again, I’ve helped two families redesign/rebuild their homes after house fires, I’ve had a client tell me how their project has brought them joy amongst a job loss and hard season, etc. etc. I could go on, but in short, I am very grateful for every project. I pride myself on listening to every client’s unique individual needs and wants, and do my best to execute them!

Previously, my clients’ son couldn’t maneuver well in the kitchen at all. It had a small footprint with tight traffic flow pathways and awkward angles which made access to the pantry, dishwasher, etc. extremely difficult to use. My client wanted her son to be able to hang out with his friends in the kitchen and to use the kitchen doing everyday tasks with ease. So here’s a quick version of what we did! We blew out walls and expanded the kitchen. We made aisle ways wider for wheelchair accessibility. We moved the microwave into the island, purchased a range with the dials/control panel on the front and created a lower seating area in the island with a waterfall countertop which perfectly transitioned the higher counter to the lower.

What a joy it was to design a kitchen that functions well for everyone!

Take a look at the transformation here! We tore out the bulk head, removed the vanity and re-oriented the tub to make the flow of this bathroom work better. My clients wanted a fun chandelier that you could view from the lake! It’s actually LED and changes color - how fun! The gorgeous picture moulding and tub filler are worth noting as well! 🤍

THE dreamiest shower! 😍 We took a risk with pattern play with the tile and it completely paid off! This elegant, yet unique shower was designed with every detail in mind. The custom shave shelf was installed at the perfect height for my client. We even measured their shampoo bottles to ensure the niche was the perfect height… not too big or small. It’s difficult to tell from pictures, but there’s even two different grout colors in this shower! What can I say?! One looked best with the back wall tile, but we didn’t want as light for the side walls and floor tile - the installer was gracious to work with us on this one! 😆 Details like this matter and are forefront when working with PBD! 🤌🏼🥰

Sharing details of this beautiful primary bathroom! First, is the vanity area!

We completely tore everything out, including the closet area and redesigned it into the perfect little “women-cave” vanity area! I included the arch to add architectural character and to soften the design. We designed the vanity area to have ample lighting and drawers for cosmetic storage. Every detail was thought out!

We took the vanity from a single sink to a double, still leaving plenty of countertop space. We removed the overhead light fixture and opted for a gorgeous sconce and LED, anti-fog mirrors! All the lighting is on dimmers, depending on usage and ambience.

The vision for the space was clean, bright & feminine! ✨

Happy Friday, Y’all! 🤍 Sharing one of my favorite projects to date! For one, my clients were amazing to work with and the husband was the absolute sweetest in wanting to create the perfect space for his wife! Two, the transformation on this one is just so wild… in the BEST way! I’m really proud of this one! We executed the most beautiful, light, airy, feminine primary bathroom! 🤍
