We are almost to the finish line! We started the design process back in November of 2025 and then started construction in January 2026. Two large walls came down, a couple of beams went up to keep the roof from falling in, lots of plumbing and wiring reconfigured, new cabinets, new countertops, amazing new island lights, new flooring. It always amazes me as to what can be demolished and rebuilt is a short amount of time. I know for my clients it seems like a long time , but we will be gone very soon and then it will be time to have family and friends come and enjoy! It will be time very soon for all of that!

We are moving along on this one: moving walls, moving plumbing, moving electrical. There is nothing simple about a project like this! We ask a lot of questions: I ask my contractors, contractors ask me questions, I ask our clients questions, my contractors ask our clients questions, and our clients ask us questions. Hopefully at the finish line “we” have analyzed all of this and answered questions and come up with the best solutions. For all of us, the goal is to have a beautiful working kitchen that we are all proud of but most important is for our clients to feel like the time and money was well worth it and they will enjoy their beautiful new space for many years to come!

What I thought would be a small project turned into quite a bit of effort to get it completed! We are taking our “builder grade” home and making it ours. It just needed a few upgrades! I thought I wanted white cabinets, but decided on the opposite! I love the warm rich feel.

Well, retirement has come! I am so loving my life right now! I have moved and now live very close to my twin boys and their wives and 11 of my grandkids that I am now getting to know and watch them grow.
It was a very hard decision in some ways because I love what I have been doing for the past 30 years. I love helping clients make their homes come to life with the designs they have been dreaming about.
Design has always been about more than just designing a great bathroom or a beautiful kitchen. For me it has always been about finding what makes my clients smile and be glad to have a space they call theirs.
I grow weary of professionals in this industry trying to tell us that this color and that color are out and here are the new colors that are the only colors you should use. My theory is that you should use colors that make you happy. I am loving the black, white and gray with some warm natural wood mixed in with it. I love it, but it is not for everyone!
Today, with some snow on the ground, I am enjoying my home. I hope you are doing the same!
I am sure there will be a few more projects in the near future, but for today, I am enjoying my space! My colors, My textures, My designs!

It has been with mixed emotions that Steve and I have made the decision for me to retire and we are moving to Huntsville, TX about an hour north of where we currently live. We are very excited but also very emotional about leaving our community. I am glad it is only a little over an hour drive, but also glad that it is a small, quiet community off a county road. I am looking forward to having some time to breath and get back to creating the things I love with some pretty special young kids that I get to call mine!

I have met a lot of very incredible people in my community and so glad that our paths have crossed. I do not believe in accidents. I believe that my life is ordained by my creator. Living here and getting to have this great opportunity that I have lived for the past 12 years has not been by accident but by destiny. Jeremiah 29:11.

We have purchased our home and doing some (what started out as minor) renovations to our soon to be new address! I will post some pictures once I get there and start to be involved in that process!

Thank you to all of those who follow me on FB and to all who have trusted me to design and renovate a part of your home.
