Design tip: Don’t overlook your big, blank walls.
Filling a large wall doesn’t have to mean spending hundreds (or thousands) on oversized artwork.
In these pictures, I found paper tapestries from Anthropologie that each cost under $300. They make a big impact, add tons warmth and personality to the rooms. They cover a ton of wall space and give a clean, collected, high-end feel without a huge price tag.

Kids’ bedrooms can be super tricky. Their tastes change in the blink of an eye, so spending a fortune on a room they may want to completely change in a few years doesn’t always make the most sense.

For this room, we invested in a few staple pieces and had a little fun with the rest by layering in affordable and adorable finds from Amazon, IKEA, and Wayfair.
The result is a room that feels bright, beautiful, and full pf personality. When they’re ready for a change swapping out a few accessories can give the whole room a fresh new look without starting from scratch.

Can we take a minute to talk about shelves?? Whether it is a freestanding bookshelf, or a built-in system in your living room, styling and decorating the shelves can be utterly overwhelming. How much do I display? Do I have too many family pictures? Does it look too empty? It can make you crazy!

HomeGoods is like magical treasure trove of unexpected gems. Amongst the vast amount of inventory they have in their stores, you can find that item that literally makes your room. From kitchens to bathrooms to bedrooms, they have it all…you just have the time, patience, and quite honestly, the eye to find it. When you do come across that perfect item, it’s the best feeling in the world! It makes you feel like you are in on a major secret, or you are cheating the system in some way. Now this kind of quest isn’t for everyone and that’s one way I can come in and give you a hand. I can help determine what accents and items your space is calling for and then go hunt it down. I truly enjoy the challenge.

Did you know that most paint store or hardware stores can match your paint color? Listen to this...when we did a gut renovation on my house 5 years ago, I chose a beautiful vanity from Room & Board for my son's bathroom. It was painted in the most unusual deep blue/green. Over the years, my teenage son has treated that vanity as teen boys do. He chipped it, stained it, scratched it and more. I finally decided to deal with it when he went to camp this summer. Rather than calling Room & Board and trying to get a hold of some touch up paint, which would honestly not even cover the damage, I simply took a drawer into Sherwin-Williams. They matched the color and in 15 minutes I had a quart of paint. I sanded and repainted the whole vanity and it looked so good that I decided to give the whole bathroom a refresh. A new bath rug and cute hanging mirrors from Amazon.com, some towels, countertop accessories, and a really cool mid century styled embroidered picture from HomeGoods, and the bathroom looks brand new...all for under $300!
