Bennett Nurseries offers our sincere condolences to the Larkin family on the passing of Robert “Bob” Larkin. For many, many years, Bob and his wife, Leo had graced the nursery with their beautiful music during our busy weekends in spring and fall. There are thousands of visitors that have fond memories of visiting our gardens while he played his violin for both adults and children alike. Bob, you will be missed.

Well, it never fails. We always say to wait until April before planting your summer vegetables and flowers. You never can tell when Spring in the South shows a surprise winter dip. Don’t worry, we’re almost there!

New perennial/biennial (not really new, but new to us)! Introducing Erysium, aka Wallflower. This little beauty blooms in spring and fall, prefers sun and good drainage. The yellow one in the picture has been planted at the nursery for 2 years. We have Magenta ready now, with other colors available this spring.

Thanks for the amazing response to Jeff's recent video. Find great gardening info in our Reels and watch for more pruning videos soon! Right now, we're planting roses, perennials, geraniums. Wander through our greenhouses and display beds as you make plans for warmer weather. Watch as the thousands of baby plants grow to be ready for Spring. Due to the potential for nasty weather, Bennett Nurseries will be closed Saturday Jan. 24th. Don’t worry, though, we will be looking after our young plants so that they will be ready to show out this spring for you! Here are a few pics of some of the Hellebores (Lenten Rose) that don’t seem to mind the cold.
