Lake Home Update! Siding is complete!

The last few weeks and the next few weeks are going to have significant changes in the appearance of the home. Now we are getting into the fun stuff! Finishes!

This week we were able to frame the front “barrel” ceiling and line it with shiplap wood (technically called carsiding) that we purchased from an occasional shop in Hutchinson called Wild Olive Tree. The back porch ceiling facing the lake now has wood ceiling as well!

The siding is also now finished on this home. The homeowner chose a Diamond Kote product in the Graphite color with white trims. It turned out gorgeous. I absolutely love their selections.

Once this front entryway is complete, it may just be my favorite ever! This “barrel” ceiling may look easy, but it took a bit of head scratching to make sure every piece makes sense and comes together just how they envisioned it would!

Lake Home Update!

For the last two weeks, we have been working diligently on the very essential but sometimes not so “glamorous” parts of the build. Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical Rough ins.

Alongside our plumbing, hvac and electrical trade partners, we take pride in working with the homeowners to determine the best options and placements to make a comfortable and functional home.

This home has now passed our stringent inspections in electrical, plumbing, hvac, fireplace install as well as the framing inspection. Now, it is time to move on to insulation and drywall!

8 weeks until this home is scheduled for completion! Stay Tuned!!

Lake Home Update!

One of our current projects is this new build on a lake located near Maple Lake. It is a large slab on grade home with an oversized garage, located where these clients had torn down a dilapidated cabin. What an upgrade!

These clients chose Andersen Fibrex windows for their new home. Fibrex is a wood composite and polymer combination that is highly durable and stronger than your standard vinyl windows. Our vinyl manufacturers could not make these large picture windows as one piece due to their lack of ability to handle the weight of this glass. Fibrex was then the chosen option and we couldn’t be happier with them!!

Lake Home Update! Finished the sheeting of the roof this week, put the housewrap on the house, and had shingles installed.

This roof was 63 squares of shingles, which is a high amount for a slab on grade home and garage. The guys started and finished it in 90 degree heat! Those guys didn’t mess around!

Next week - finish framing of interior walls, complete the storage loft in the garage, start on windows and have HVAC started.

Lake Home Update! It was a hot week. It was a wet week. But. It was also a productive week!

Lake Home Update!! Framing has started this week and it is starting to look like a house! The views out of the house through the big windows facing the lake are definitely something to be desired!

We had to deal with a little rain this week, but we were still able to get all the windows and doors framed out and built, sheeted and stood all the exterior walls! One of my favorite parts is coming next! Putting up trusses!
