LDD | Polka Dot Apocalypse

Strong 1960’s-70’s energy. Oversized dots, sculptural wood lines, and the kind of chairs that feel like they belonged in a conversation pit with ci******es, espresso, dramatic lighting, and very interesting people.

Honestly, I’ll always love pieces that feel slightly unhinged… much like the people I surround myself with~ in the best possible way. 🤎

Muy fuerte energía de los años 60/70. Lunares oversized, líneas escultóricas de madera, y el tipo de sillas que parecen pertenecer a un conversation pit con ci*******os, espresso, iluminación dramática y gente muy interesante.

Honestamente, siempre voy a amar las piezas que se sienten un poquito desequilibradas… muy parecido a la gente de la que me rodeo~ de la mejor manera posible!

LDD | Antique Little Toy Truck 🚚

I’m delighted by this old hand-painted tin dump truck I found in NYC in 1997 in the garbage!
These little utilitarian toys weren’t decor back then (still maybe not now 😂…but to me they scream it) as they were meant to be played with hard.
I love pieces like this because they still carry a memory of a child playing with it from the 1920’s-1930’s.
Accidental compositions like this are most of what LDD is all about.

Estoy fascinada con este viejo camioncito volquete de lata pintado a mano que encontré en Nueva York en 1997… ¡en la basura! 😂
Estos jugueticos utilitarios no eran decoración en esa época (y bueno… capaz todavía tampoco 😂… pero para mí gritan diseño y carácter). Eran hechos para jugar duro, para terminar rayados, golpeados y queridos de verdad.
Me encantan piezas así porque todavía cargan la memoria de algún niño jugando con ellas en los años 20s o 30s.
Composiciones accidentales como esta son gran parte de lo que representa LDD para mí. 🤍

LDD | Pike Place Market Finds 🐖

I ended up bringing home both pieces from MODHome Ceramics because I COULD~ 🤣 I adore hand-carved texture, crackled glaze, and soft, imperfect edges.
One butter dish, one little catchall tray... both handmade by ceramic artist Nicole Pepper of MODHome Ceramics in West Seattle. l've always been drawn to objects that are obviously made by the human hand & useful.

Adoro las texturas talladas a mano, el craquelado del esmalte y esos bordes suaves e imperfectos.

Markets, flowers, spices, butter dishes, old textures, people-watching, beautiful light…

Honestly, half my life is just romantically wandering around noticing objects. 😂🤍

Mercados, flores, especias, mantequilleras, texturas antiguas, observar a la gente, luz bonita…

La verdad, la mitad de mi vida consiste en caminar románticamente por ahí fijándome en objetos. 😂🤍

Axel Vervoordt:

Vervoordt’s philosophy reminds me that beauty doesn’t have to shout to be powerful & his elegance has no hint of blandness or predictability.



El trabajo de Axel Vervoordt siempre ha conectado conmigo porque no se trata solo de decoración ni se siente demasiado “producido.” Demuestra un equilibrio perfecto entre contención, textura y atmósfera. Lujo silencioso, imperfección y pátina permiten que un espacio respire con espacio negativo.

La filosofía de Vervoordt me recuerda que la belleza no tiene que gritar para ser poderosa, y que la verdadera elegancia no tiene ni rastro de monotonía o previsibilidad.

LDD | What luxury actually feels like~
I’ve never really understood the obsession with bearskin rugs…
rabbit fur is just noticeably softer. So much softer.
The hand is incredible—and it looks as luxurious as it feels.

Am I wrong?

Nunca he entendido mucho la obsesión con las alfombras de piel de oso…
la piel de conejo es simplemente más suave… muchísimo más suave.
La “mano” es increíble… y se ve tan lujosa como se siente.

¿Estoy equivocada?

I’ve always been drawn to pieces that create movement where the eye never stagnates.
These entwined zebras by Victor Vasarely (Op Art, edition 120/150) brings that fluidity in such a sculptural way.
Layered over a white rabbit fur rug, paired with a hand-turned wood bowl with a natural bark edge & finished with a geometric velvet pillow… it’s excitement & softness.

Siempre me han atraído las piezas que generan movimiento, aquellas en las que la mirada nunca se estanca.
Estas cebras entrelazadas de Victor Vasarely (Op Art, edición 120/150) aportan esa fluidez de una manera sumamente escultórica.
Dispuestas sobre una alfombra de piel de conejo blanca, combinadas con un cuenco de madera torneada a mano de borde natural -conservando la corteza- y rematadas con un cojín de terciopelo de diseño geométrico... el conjunto se convierte en un contraste entre lo rústico y lo suave.
