So I took in another sweet kitty late last fall, and found out after a couple of weeks that she’d soon be a mama. These four — two black, one gray, one black and white — are 12 weeks old now and ready for their furever indoor homes! The gray one is female, the rest are males. I’ve spent a lot of time with them and they are very people-friendly, playful and just generally adorable! If two could be together at each home, they would love that.

Here are more cookies as promised, headed to Hager’s in a jiffy — I have more than usual on some of the plates, just ‘cause there were so many kinds I wanted to try. Cranberry shortbread and candy cane kiss cookies (sugar cookie with a hint of peppermint in the dough!) are new additions as to the lineup… also more of the raspberry shortbread, gingerbread blossoms, and peanut butter are in the mix. Come in to Hager’s and snag some festive goodies!

So many cookie recipes sound so delicious at this time of year… so I had to try a couple more. Today’s plates have raspberry shortbread (with crushed freeze-dried berries!) and cranberry-orange oatmeal, along with some butter pecan. The oatmeal ones I did tweak, perhaps selfishly — the original recipe calls for chocolate chips with the dried cranberries, but I generally prefer not to mix those... So I went with what we’ve got here. I love them, and hope you do too! They’re headed to Hager’s in a few minutes. More coming tomorrow.

Happy Tuesday! It was time to try some different varieties of cookies… and I know it’s earlier in the week than usual, but that’s okay. Here we have: gingerbread blossoms (molasses ginger cookie with a vanilla candy kiss in the center), butter pecan (similar to shortbread with brown sugar), raspberry pinwheels (small, so there are a few extra on a couple of the plates), and a few peanut butter. They’re heading in to Hager’s Market in a few minutes!

Friday’s here! Pumpkin bread was on the list for this week’s baking, but I ran out of time to get it done and to Hager’s yesterday. So it will head in there as soon as they open (10 today) along with a couple more plates of cookies! The new pumpkin crumb cake cookies I think I’ll rename to pumpkin streusel. The cookies themselves are not cakey, but chewy. I need y’all to help me out here so I can stay out of them. ‘Nuff said!
(Oh — samples will actually be along this time. I forgot them yesterday!)

Happy Thursday afternoon! I’ve had a couple of requests lately for baked treats again at Hager’s, so i baked up a storm (not literally, the weather is gorgeous) this morning, and these will be heading there as soon as they’re cool. Fresh white bread, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter, snickerdoodles… and a new kind, pumpkin crumb cake cookies! They’re a chewy treat with all the cozy spices, a sprinkle of streusel over their tops, and finished with a drizzle of maple icing. I plan to have samples of them for you to try, so… come on in to Hager’s and get ‘em!

Happy Friday! Are you out garage-saling? Head on over to Hager’s and pick up some treats to enjoy while you’re out finding treasures!
