Caught on our phone, but too good not to share.

Fun fact: this client found us right here on Instagram. And another fun fact: this project touched nearly every room in the house.

A color-drenched mudroom and laundry space, mauve cabinetry in the office, a refreshed fireplace hearth, updated kitchen details, and much more — some rooms got a full overhaul, and others got the aesthetic upgrades they so deserved.

Walnut, terrazzo, and just the right amount of green.

This kitchen leans into its materials: rich walnut cabinetry, a speckled terrazzo floor, and glossy green tile that ties it all together. Even the little things got attention, like that curved corner shelving making room for cookbooks and a few plants.

Say hey to Mel! 👋🏼

Mel has been part of the Emergent team for a little over a year — but her history with us started well before that. She was a client first. After experiencing the process from the other side, she joined as a Project Design Specialist, and that perspective shows up in everything she does.

These days, Mel works across conceptual planning and design, helping move ideas forward, keeping details on track, and bringing a sharp eye to every stage of a project. She makes a whole lot happen quietly behind the scenes.

Great taste. Gets stuff done. Knows Emergent from both sides of the table. We’re really grateful to have her on the team!

The kitchen doesn’t really end here — it just changes mood.

The arch barely interrupts the flow. Same floor, same light, same easy feel carrying straight through from the kitchen into this fireplace-anchored dining area. Two very different rooms, functioning like one.

The details do the talking in this one.

Glass-front hutches built right into the cabinetry run, a marble-clad backsplash with a pot filler tucked into its own little alcove, and warm stained wood breaking up all that creamy cabinetry.

You’ve seen the extensive backyard renovation. You’ve seen the mudroom addition. Now here’s the powder bath that ties it all together.

Bold pattern, dark vanity, warm brass accents — proof that going big in small spaces always pays off.

A kitchen that knows how to use its space.

Long and narrow doesn't mean short on storage. This one is wall-to-wall cabinetry, floor to ceiling, with barely an inch left unused. The kind of kitchen where everything has a place.

We got to build something a little different this time!

The Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association asked a handful of builders to help refresh the little free libraries around the neighborhood, and we couldn’t say yes fast enough. Ours went in today — copper roof, glass panels, and a little bee perched on top as a nod to the homeowner’s love of gardening (she’s constantly planting for the bees).

Small project, same Emergent standard. If you’re in the neighborhood, keep an eye out for it 🐝

What does “in progress” actually look like?

Sometimes it’s plans taped to a wall so every trade knows what we’re building toward. Sometimes it’s a fireplace mid-transformation, or cabinets fresh off the shop floor, or a pantry ladder going in before the shelves are even stained.

Across a handful of our current projects, this is what the in-between stage actually looks like. A little messy, a little unfinished, but one of our favorite parts 🧡

Growth looks different for everyone, and lately, we've had a lot of it to celebrate.

Lauren recently graduated from Purdue and has joined Emergent full-time as our Design Coordinator—a natural next step after two years of growing with our team as an intern. We're so excited to have her in this expanded role!

We've also welcomed Dominic as our Design-Build Operations Intern for the summer. Heading into his final semester at Butler, where he's studying Entrepreneurship & Innovation, he's gaining experience across both the field and office as he continues to grow.

And finally, Sam, our Architectural Drafter for nearly two years, is heading back to graduate school. We're incredibly grateful for everything he's contributed to Emergent and excited to see what's ahead for him. Thankfully, this isn't a full goodbye—he'll continue supporting our team remotely as he begins this next chapter.

It's a privilege to invest in people as they grow, and even more rewarding when we get to grow alongside them 🧡
