What could the future of learning look like at Upper Sandusky E.V. Schools (OH) Sandusky Schools?

We recently spent the day visioning with Upper Sandusky teachers and staff, meeting with the elementary team in the morning and middle and high school teams in the afternoon. Alongside Emmy Beeson and Dr. Lisa Lande from Partnerships for Authentic Learning and Leadership, participants explored new ideas, challenged traditional ways of thinking and shared how their learning environments can better support students and educators.

We had an outstanding group from our Indianapolis office show up for another opportunity to support our 65 Acts of Giving Back initiative!

Our team volunteered with Outreach Indiana, an organization dedicated to supporting young adults experiencing homelessness by providing safe spaces, resources, support and connections to help them move toward stability and independence.

We tackled projects inside and out such as picking up trash and cleaning the surrounding neighborhood, mowing grass, spending time playing games with the kids, whipping up lunch in the kitchen and firing up the grill for hot dogs and burgers.

As a firm dedicated to designing spaces where students learn and grow, this was a meaningful opportunity to support the children and young people in our communities outside of the classroom this time!

With a new school year underway, our Fanning Howey team came together across all our offices to support students in our local communities.

From collecting hundreds of school supplies and filling backpacks to volunteering at community events, our teams helped provide resources for students and teachers heading into the school year. In Dublin alone, employees donated more than 200 items and volunteered at Driven Foundation's Backpack Giveback, helping prepare backpacks for local families.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed across our offices in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan. Your generosity will help make a difference for students and educators as they begin another school year.

✨ What I love most about my work
I love that every school project is different. Each building has its own story, community, and challenges. The best part is knowing that the work we do helps create spaces where students learn, teachers teach, and memories are made — even if most people never notice the technology working behind the scenes!

💡 One thing people don’t realize about my job
Many people don’t realize how much planning goes into the technology behind a school. It’s not just picking equipment and plugging things in! It’s understanding how people teach, learn, collaborate, and interact with a space, then designing systems that support those needs for years to come. A lot of problem-solving, collaboration, and a little bit of detective work goes into it.

🎉 Fun Facts
- Professional: I can walk through a school and immediately start noticing things most people overlook — speakers, cameras, displays, wireless coverage, and all the technology that keeps a building running.
- Personal: I have twin daughters in high school; a lot of my free time is spent keeping up with their activities!

As summer comes to a close and the school year begins, we're saying goodbye to our amazing Summer Interns across five Fanning Howey offices.

Thank you for your hard work, fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and contributions throughout the summer. We loved having you on our teams and watching you grow professionally along the way.

To celebrate, our offices gathered for some fun farewell events, including putt-putt golf and pizza in Celina, pizza parties in Michigan and Indianapolis, and a friendly game of Pictionary in Dublin.

We wish each of you a successful school year and can't wait to see all that you accomplish next. Good luck and thank you for being part of the Fanning Howey family!
