Wow, wow, wow!
Thank you so incredibly much to everyone who came out today to celebrate our one year anniversary here at Harlot Apothecary, and thank you to everyone who has come in, shopped, hung out, talked s**t, trauma dumped, made art, sold art, and made our days brighter just by being around over these last 12 months!
So much gratitude to the vendors who joined us in celebrating, the musicians who graced us with their talents, and to the community that welcomed us with open arms and love to give! We’re just three weirdo art kids trying to make something grand happen and do something good for the community, we just want to lift up other weirdos and other artists and be a safe space for all of the other likeminded freaks and geeks that roam the streets of this fair city.
When we set out to open the shop a year ago, it was something like a fever dream. We say it all the time, but all of the work it took to bring this dream to life took place over the span of maybe two weeks. Long days, sleepless nights, a ton of hard work, all to not really know what we were getting ourselves into.
It’s no secret that owning a small business can be a difficult journey that’s unfortunately not always fruitful for a lot of people. To say this has been a year full of challenges and learning curves is an understatement.
But with all of that has also come a great joy, a community of wonderful people to belong to, and endless interactions with some of the most creative and unique individuals we’ve ever met.
There just aren’t enough words in the English language to express the gratitude that the three of us have towards everyone who has gifted us with their support. Thank you so, so, so much for getting us to one year old, here’s hoping we can continue being a part of this wild and wonderful space for a long time to come!
