Those Darn Potatas...

Potatas, spread the word. We’ve got a little hangout here. Bring your stories, photos, and memories of your time at the Potata, whether it was the 1995 original Milwaukee pad, Milwaukee reincarnation in 1999, the Iowa City Theta Beta Potata in 2000, or even one of the other houses rumored to exist. What is this? While we’re meeting up, we’re going to gauge interest in a Potata documentary. Dan Maloney is already on board as well as Dave Rudnik in Wisconsin and the Andy Z. from the original Potatoes crew from ‘95 (look for his videos). In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be rolling out some items from my archive and and I hope you’ll do the same from your.

Check back again in October, I’ll post the full list of Iowa City Potata shows, so you’ll be able to reference dates, bands, and other notes to jog your memory, now a decade and a half later! If it the mojo feels good, we’ll gather all this together for some sorta video project about the Potata phenomenon, it could be a 10 min. featurette on Youtube, or maybe something bigger if it’s in the cards. Either way, you’ll have a nice little scrapbook on your knee to explain your wild youth to your kids. Ain’t that sweet.
