𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗞𝗶𝗺'𝘀 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆

Here's how a sketch on Pinterest turns into a stove hood nobody forgets.

It starts in the designer's head as "a good idea." After digging through Instagram and Pinterest for examples, the idea takes shape. This time it was an arched vent hood built right into the wall around the stove.

Then pictures start showing up on a wall. Mood boards, tile samples, paint swatches taped up next to each other like evidence in a very tasteful crime scene.

Then the client meeting. The client loves it, mostly, except for one thing, which is somehow always the thing Kim loved most.

Then the meeting with the project manager and superintendent, where Kim explains the vision and the project manager explains gravity, building code, and the lead time on that hand laid tile from Italy.

In the end, everyone gets in a room together and, against all odds, agrees on something.

Then the crew shows up and actually builds it, which is the only step nobody argues about, because by then everyone's just relieved it's real.

Somewhere in there, a mood board turned into a curved vent hood that makes the whole kitchen. We still don't fully know how it happens. We just know it works.

Driveway went in today.

It looks simple. It is not. Grade has to be right before a single truck shows up, or water ends up somewhere it shouldn't for the next 30 years. Forms get set, base gets compacted, then the pour happens fast and doesn't stop until it's done.

One shot to get it right. That's concrete.
