We are a full-service architecture and design firm, specializing in the education market. GreenAssociates was founded in 1979 by Raymond J. Green.

Ray’s goal for his new firm was to provide superior architectural service to clients and in doing so, build lasting relationships. Since that beginning, we have completed over 2,500 projects for public schools, parks, municipalities, counties and state agencies. In 2001 ownership transitioned to the second generation of principals who continue the tradition of superior service. We provide our publ

ic sector clients with building programming, facility master planning, building and interior design, and construction management services. Our expertise also includes ‘Green’ building design, ADA compliance, smart building technology systems, energy-efficiency improvements and life safety surveys and amendments. We are adept at working with constituents, patrons, volunteer groups, and community organizations to communicate our client’s facility needs and plans for solutions. Working as part of our client’s team we have helped create both better facilities and better communities.

GreenAssociates is excited to welcome Cindee Bustillos to our Itasca team!

Cindee is a graduate of DeVry University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Family is at the center of her life, and she especially enjoys spending time at the park with her 4-year-old nephew.

She has a deep appreciation for children and their naturally curious minds. In her free time, Cindee loves being outdoors—whether hiking a scenic trail or relaxing on her balcony with a good book.

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer—it is a time set aside to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

And it reminds us of the importance of designing and preserving spaces where communities can gather, honor, and remember together. Whether in town squares, schools, or memorial parks, these places help foster connection, reflection, and shared appreciation.

As we enjoy time with family and friends during this Memorial Day Weekend, may we also take time to honor those whose courage and sacrifice made that freedom possible.

GreenAssociates is excited to announce the addition of Jacob Callentine to our Itasca team!

Jay graduated from Judson University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture while competing as a student-athlete on the football team. He made history as the first football player at Judson to earn a degree in architecture and remains the only defensive player in program history to receive All-Conference honors.

He is deeply passionate about designing spaces that foster connection, strengthen community, and support positive mental health through thoughtful, human-centered design.

We’re excited to announce that construction is nearing completion on the addition and renovation of Tilton Elementary School in Rochelle, IL. This project includes a new multi-purpose room (MPR), classrooms, kitchen, and administrative offices, along with substantial upgrades to the existing school building.

Each area has been carefully designed to support an enhanced learning environment and better meet the needs of students and staff. A standout feature of the project is the installation of a new geothermal HVAC system, which will serve both the new addition and the existing facility, increasing energy efficiency, sustainability, and overall comfort throughout the school.

With completion expected in August 2026, we look forward to finishing the project this summer in time for the start of the new school year. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the final stages.

A recent graduate of Judson University with a bachelor’s degree, Giovanni plans to return to pursue his master’s there as well. He believes community is key to creating meaningful spaces—not only within a building, but beyond it as well.

Madison graduated with her bachelor’s degree this spring from Judson University. She will be doing her Preceptorship with us through next spring and is excited to expand her knowledge on how to better design and improve spaces within the community!

A Groundbreaking Ceremony was held yesterday at Morris Community High School for its exciting construction of their High School addition and renovation project, and GreenAssociates was proud to be part of the celebration!

The project will be completed in phases, starting with a large addition to the existing facility that will replace the three detached buildings currently on campus, helping to bring all of the students and staff under one roof. More additions will provide a secure main entrance, and dramatic improvements for the fine arts department. Next, a major renovation of the existing facility to bring the 1950s era building, up to modern educational standards. Once complete, all Morris Community High School will be able to facilitate 21st Century learning, provide beautiful new spaces for the students and community, and will be anchored by a new secure main entrance.
