Derek’s Story & The Legacy He Chose

“I am Derek Schroeder, second generation remodeler…I decided to come back because I believe that there is a bigger purpose behind what our company is trying to do for the community, & I wanted to continue to build on that legacy that he [referring to his father, Rolf] started.”

He could have gone a different direction. He chose this one.

Derek Schroeder grew up on job sites across Bucks County, learning the trade from his father — the man who built Rolf Schroeder General Contractors from the ground up more than 40 years ago. After college, the easier path called. A different industry. A different life.

Instead, he came back.

Not because it was the easiest choice. Because he believed there was a bigger purpose behind what this company was doing for this community — and he wasn’t willing to let that story end.

Today, as second-generation owner & president of RSGC, Derek is building on a legacy that has served homeowners across Bucks County, Montgomery County, the Main Line, & New Jersey for over four decades.

Derek & Jack traveled to attend the JobTread Software Regional Workshop — a full-day, hands-on training event focused on sharpening how we manage projects, communicate with clients, & run every phase of a renovation at the highest level.

We already run a tight ship. But "already good" has never been good enough for us.

Every system we refine behind the scenes translates directly to a better experience for the homeowners who trust us with their most important investment. Clearer communication. More precise timelines. A process that protects you from the moment we meet to the day we hand back your keys.

This week, Derek & Jack had the privilege of representing RSGC as judges for the NOCTI* exams at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology () — alongside the talented teams from Freedom General Contracting & Gemmi Construction.
NOCTI assessments are no small thing. They represent years of dedication, hands-on learning, & a genuine commitment to a craft. Standing in that room with these students — watching them demonstrate real, earned skill — was a reminder of exactly why this industry matters.

The trades built this region. And the next generation is ready to carry that forward.
