🩷 Thank you to everyone who stopped by last Saturday at Ignite Appalachia in Portsmouth, OH! I loved talking to you all and greatly appreciate your support! I plan on coming back next October!

For those who missed it, it's a market worth attending. Fantastic vendors with all sorts of crafts, clothing, beautiful art, baked goods, flowers and more.

My booth is back! I brought in a few new things. Two of the small boxy bags are left from Saturday. The minis sold! There are several coin purses and three small zip bags. And a bunch of wristlet keyfobs. The blue plaid one is vintage feedsack material. For you over achieving, early Christmas shoppers, all of these make great gifts 😉.

I decided to bring back a jean jacket for the coming fall weather. Although, 85° in October is not a complaint! It's an XL and slightly cropped. But let's be real, women's clothing letters and numbers are just guidelines. Feel free to try it on.

Witch hats and pumpkins will be disappearing at the end of the month. Never to return. Grab them now! The witch hats are so stinkin' cute, they could be out all year long.

After taking horse blankets to the laundromat this morning, I finished up the mini zip bags - so stinkin' cute! - and got started on the boxy bags. I believe I've used up all that I can from the red star quilt. The little bit that's left is pretty rough.

I need to pick up more material for the linings. I bought the very last of this gigham, so we'll see what else Amanda has that will work. I have no doubt I'll find something! If you've not been to Liberty Lane Quilt Shop on Broadway St., you need to check it out. Without Amanda, I'd be doing who knows what. Not this!

For those interested in the waxed canvas - I order it two yards at a time. It's 60" wide and comes on a roll. I get it from Sailrite. They've got a lot of colors but I'm partial to the saddle brown. I'm quite meticulous when I cut it. I don't want to waste any of it. It's very easy to work with and I love how the more it gets used the better it looks. 🤎

My sew-in tags arrived on Saturday! Woohoo! It only took 10 days to get here from MI. 🤦‍♀️

So, nowww I can start in on some mini zipper bags! I thought I'd show a little "behind the scenes" with two I made today.

The first one always takes the longest and is a trial and error project. I started out with making one with zipper tabs at each end of the zipper. These are 5"w x 4"h. As adorable as it is, the tabs made the opening too small. Because I want the waxed canvas bottom to be one piece instead of two stitched together, the tabs also made it a challenge to top stitch the zipper.

Take two - with the second one, I omitted the tabs and now the zipper opens plenty wide to put in small things like a bank card, lip balm, etc.

And yep, I miss things! I pulled it right side out and saw I missed the side tab! It happens 🤪

On regular bags, I close the lining on a side seam with the machine. With these, the lining gets closed on the bottom. To make it flat and look nicer, I hand stitch it closed. Honestly, I enjoy handstitching.

I also finished the wristlet keyfobs! All but one are made with reproduction or vintage-y fabric. Can you guess which one is original vintage feedsack?

I have four more mini bags to make tomorrow. Then I'll see about some boxy bags! 😁

I've been working on a couple of new bags - with zippers! One is a boxy bag in a few different sizes. The other is a small zipper pouch. These are going to be great for all the leftover bits of quilts. I'm just waiting for USPS to stop sending my sew-in tags everywhere but here, so I can get things sewn together.

I forgot! I also have half finished wristlet keyrings waiting for the mailman, too. 🙄

I haven't done any kind of video in a long time, so I tried not to babble too much 🤪.

Well, I'm finally remembering to post booth photos! 🤪 Owls, pumpkins and the most adorable witch hats are my contribution to fall and Halloween decor. The pink pumpkin has a stick stem, but the other are all from vines along the edge of my woods. Oh, there's one flag banner as well!

There are 2 large market bags. I use ones just like it for groceries and love them. Well, mine aren't as pretty. A couple of smaller crossbodys and a few totebags. There are 2 aprons hiding on the coat rack, as well.

And lets not forget the quilt coat and hoodie! The quilt coat is a large. The hoodie is a small. It looks more like a medium, but it does not stretch like a sweatshirt when you take it off. Both are fabulous!

I have the super sized spool quilt at home. It's still for sale. I need to come up with a rack for Ed to make so I can hang coats. 😉

🌼 It's too hot for pumpkin spice, but it's right on target for daisies! This is the last of the daisy bags! I fully intended to make them to match the crossbody bags, using quilt pieces for the back. I did a last minute design change and repurposed mens jeans instead. Both styles of bags turned out awesome!

The tote bags are 15"w x 17"d with a 6" gusset. Straps are 1-1/4"w x 28" long. You could easily fit a chihuahua or two in these! But! They could also be used for school books, craft supplies, overnight trips... you get it. 😁

With the Mother Nature having a major hot flash, it's not recommended to leave waxed canvas in the car. The wax can melt. It can also be reapplied. But not leaving in the car is a better option.

Two bags will be going to Ellie Mills Mercantile tomorrow and one will be going to Hope Homestead Farms & General Store possibly tomorrow. Soon anyways!

❤️ I love wearing vintage art! I had just enough of this beautiful red star quilt to make a hoodie. The faded red gingham fabric couldn't be more perfect. For some fun, I lined the hood, the backside of the pocket and just enough up the sleeves so you can see it cuffed up. I also used it for the seam binding. I think garments can be fun on the inside, too! The quilt is in pretty good condition for its age. I had to make a few repairs. There aren't any stains.

This hoodie is a S/M with 24" armpit to armpit. I'm 5'5" and 140lbs, and it just fits me. I can get it on ok, but I have to be careful getting it off. It's old fabric and it doesn't stretch like a knit hoodie does. So this would fit someone smaller than me. Oversized is the best anyways. 😁

I'll be taking it to Ellie Mills Mercantile on Friday!

💗 I am taking very little credit for this coat. The vintage quilt is a stunner! I absolutely love the border! All hand stitched and quilted in incredible detail and is still in very good condition. The photos do not do it justice. I had already cut out 2 plates for bags and I'm sooo glad I didn't cut more. I don't think a coat would've worked out. This is more of a L/XL. It is 30" arm pit to arm pit. I'm 5'5" and 140lbs and it's just a little big - perfect!

All the seams and front pockets have been bias bound in a pretty blue quilting cotton.

There are a few stains on the inside and back of the collar, and two small dots on the right collar.

I'll be bringing this beauty to Ellie Mills Mercantile on Friday. The spool quilt will be going to Hope Homestead Farms & General Store hopefully on Saturday.
