This is just crazy!! All three sold before I got them into my booth this morning!

THANK YOU!! to all of you who have been scooping up bags before I can ask "I wonder if they'll sell?". I am so very grateful!! 💛

I can make a few more of these. There's maybe 4-5 more usable daisies. Once I get the feed dogs on my machine back where they belong, I'll start working on the large daisy tote bag. Stay tuned.... 🌞

🌞 Despite brain and sewing machine issues, I managed to get these finished today. They turned out so pretty! Daisies are just the happiest flowers!

These are a bit bigger than the red star bags at approximately 10"w x 12"h with 3" gusset. I did add an inside pocket for keys and such. Lengthen the strap for crossbody or shorten for shoulder. They'd be great for carrying a small book or notepad along with the usual purse items. You can't help but smile with these!

I'll be taking them to Ellie Mills Mercantile on Friday. 🙂

I was a little bummed I didn't find anything at the French 500 this morning, but the hunt is still fun.

Here is what is what I have at Hope Homestead Farms & General Store. Descriptions with the photos.

I forgot take photos of the jean jackets, so I found photos from when they were at Ellie Mills. One jacket is a medium and the other a large, but they both fit me the same way. Again, please feel free to try them on. Letters and numbers on clothing mean nothing.

If you've not been here, you need to put it on your list. It's a tiny but mighty shop with handmade and food vendors, bulk herbs and teas, cheese, milk, meat and more. They also have events every month. It's just off 35 at the Rio Grande exit.

Follow them on fb!

Today I decided to do a quick photoshoot of what's in my booth here at Ellie Mills Mercantile. To keep this part short, I'll put a brief description with the photos.

I brought in 2 of the 3 red star crossbody bags. They both sold within 2 hours! ðŸ˜ģ

The third one is going to Hope Homestead Farms & General Store after I take a junk jaunt through the French 500 tomorrow.

There are aprons, various sized bags and many small things. The jean jacket is an xxl but let's face it, clothing numbers and letters mean nothing. Please feel free to try it on.

Mother's Day is this Sunday! Why buy flowers that die when you can find a unique gift at both Elllie Mills and Hope Homestead. There are 2 days left to shop!

If you're needing a large market bag, then you should also grab the shirt to match from ChavisCrossing! 💛

It's hard to believe this beautiful daisy quilt was headed for the trash. She's just so pretty and I love daisies! Ed isn't allowed to mow the ones Cheyenne doesn't eat out in the pasture 😁.

For now, I'm making 3 crossbodys and one tote. The tote is still a work in progress. I have an idea how it's going to go, but that can change.

I gave the smaller crossbodys with the faded red star waxed canvas backs. Very old quilt. I quite like this idea. I still need the sliders for the straps.

I ordered the hardware for all the bags today, so everything should hopefully be done next week.

Quick plug for Raccoon Creek Market on June 13th. I'll be there!

I've been wanting to make tote bags with waxed canvas and a quilt piece pocket. I finally got two made and I'm quite happy with them. There are magnetic snaps for the bag and the pocket. There's a smaller pocket inside for keys and such. They're approximately 14x14 with 1-1/4"x 27" straps and 3" gusset.

Charlie helped out with today's photoshoot 💗.

I'll be bringing one tote to Ellie Mills Mercantile and the other will go to Hope Homestead Farms & General Store sometime next week.

There's a jean jacket, a couple of market bags and two book size totes that are recent additions to my booth. I'm working on some new crossbody bags. I have to order some hardware, so those will be a little bit.

I hope everyone has been enjoying the early summer! ☀ïļ

Oven mitts! The outsides are vintage feed sack cloth and the insides are new, vintage reproduction fabric from Liberty Lane Quilting. These were easy to make but took forever. I hand quilted both the outside and inside pieces. It took an hour to quilt one of the outside pieces. Less for the inside because I didn't do as much. They come down your arm for extra protection. I recommend handwash/line dry because of the vintage fabric and the hand quilting. They pull apart for easier cleaning and drying. They are not reversible.

They are made from 100% cotton fabric and batting. I have yet to set myself on fire using the gas cooktop, but at least they won't have to pick plastic out of my hand if it happens. I did do a hot cast iron pan test and they do the job!

Three of them are at Ellie Mills Mercantile and the blue plaid and green stripe ones are at Hope Homestead Farms & General Store.

This morning, I brought the cupboard home to de-gray. I love the cupboard but gray is a sad and depressing color - all 500 shades of it. It's coming off.

So, "booth reset" is a bit understated, but I love it! I didn't realize just how much it needed a new look. It'll be a while before I can get the cupboard "happy" again, but I'm not sure I'll bring it back. Time will tell!

Have you seen the oven mitts made from old quilts? They're pretty cool! I don't have any quilts that would qualify for an oven mitt, but I do have a few vintage feed sacks. Yep! It was warm enough to hang them outside to dry today! ☀ïļ

When I was looking for a sewing pattern to use, I learned that using 100% cotton is best. No one wants a melted oven mitt, although I've never caught one on fire. Yet! ðŸĪŠ Since it's sometimes hard to tell what is being used for batting in a quilt, I'm going to use the feed sack material and 100% cotton batting - double thickness. I'll have a couple at both shops. Which pattern is your favorite? Tough call for me!
