🙏Since I heard about the Maui fire in Lahaina I can't stop thinking about it, I don't sleep well at all. All the people that died a horrible death just for them to build a smart city on Maui? I'm still in shock how corrupt the government is!
It is soooo heartbreaking what happened and to hear that the government is not helping, the military is 30 miles away on another island hasn't arrived to help yet.
The only street in and out of Lahaina is blocked to where victims can't leave to get supplies cause they won't be able to get back into Lahaina. The Waterways are being blocked and they hinder Locals to bring in supplies on their own boats. Thank god the locals help each other, breaking through barricades to help. FEMA and the Red Cross take over truck loads of supplies and nobody knows where they went to. They make people sign paperwork to give their land to them in order to receive help from them. People that try to bring home cooked meals can't do so cause they get stopped and asked for their kitchen licenses.
Month before the fire they were making plans to building a smart city on Maui and now this happened.
People had no power, cell service at 5am that morning already and were told the fire that occured was extinguished.
The wind got stronger and all the kids got sent home from school, the parents still at work.Then in the afternoon out of the nowhere everything was on fire again. It wasn't a powerline, remember power was out since 5 am that day.
People trying to use their water hose to save their places and there was no water coming out.
No evacuations happend.
No sirens, nothing.
Kids at home alone not knowing what to do... A whole neighborhood of kids didn't make it out of the fire.
All the animals.. It is so hard to believe, my heart aches.
Now the really worse part
They closed that fu***ng road! the only road for people to escape in their cars. That is why you see lines of cars in the pictures, they had no chance to escape and burned alive in their cars. some were able to make it into the ocean.
A lot of people even died in the ocean because the fire hit the ocean as well, people were in the ocean for 6-7h before they got rescued.
The fire was so hot that they are having a hard time finding bodies cause all there is are ashes left.
Old folk homes...nobody got an evacuation notice, or help..
Oprah and Bezos are already fighting over who will buy Lahaina. She brought pillow cases and shampoo samples to the people in shelters knowing they had no bed or shower!
She will help with money at a later time, well I can just imagine what will happen.
There are also fires in other places on Maui, like in Kula and north Kihei...but guess what NONE of the celebrities houses got hit!
I was living on Maui ,and that community is so strong and they work hand in hand! The Kanaka and Kapuna, they will make it without any help from these corrupt organizations or the government. Everyone keep strong and DON'T sell your land to them. Do not give your DNA!
We can't do much from the mainland but we are making t-shirts since 3 days straight already to help and give the donations to the HHH Maui and Maui Humane society that we know they really help the people!
If you donate DO NOT donate it to the Red Cross, FEMA, or any other big org because they don't help!
1400 people still missing, that tells you how bad it was.
We are so heartbroken and wish all the people strength to get through this
And I hope the truth will come out
To all the people I know on Maui, I'm glad you are safe and thank you for all the help y'all putting in to help others. Everyone is exhausted.
And to the people that think they need to snorkel already 3 days after the fire happened, in the water where alot of people lost their lives, between dead bodies it's a shame.
The people that got upset that they can't have their wedding right now..... unbelievable
